Good to get an overview of the history of Malta if you're clueless like we were :) Would be good to do at the beginning of your trip, so that you can place the rest of the attractions in the history of the island. Tour...More

Started our visit with snack in the cafe, stroll through the shop, then viewed the 45 minute history of Malta film, then an engaging professional presentation during the tour of the Knights Infirmary. All very interesting and glad we visited.

Worth a visit to give you an insight into the heroic history of this amazing island. Helps you to appreciate the spectacular fortifications and buildings of this city and country. A good starting point of your visit to Malta.

Although lots of good reviews we were still sceptical about this being as good as it claimed. But in fact it was great. Very informative but quite a slow queue to get in even though it’s only January .

If you are looking for wide sandy beaches then you will be disappointed. Most are small and stoney or off of rocks but the water is crystal clear. Some hotels have small 'artificial' sandy beaches by which I mean they have... More

Fort Rinella and Valletta (10 Replies)
Hi Malta experts, I'm coming to Malta for 10 days in August. I've been told on here about the big gun at Fort Rinella, and I think my kids would love to see it. Is it possible to see the Malta Experience or Living Hisory show, then walk along the Valletta waterfront and still get to the Upper Barracka Gardens in time for the transport to the Fort? Is there somewhere to eat near the fort, or do you sign up at noon then return later for the transport? Hoping someone can help me,...More

there are no restaurants near the fort as it is quite remote. however there is a small snack bar in the fort for a cup of tea / coffee, glass of coke etc and a cake . Why not buy some pastizzi ( cheese cakes or pea cakes ) and take them with you ? If you speak to one of the soldiers at the noon gun firing at the Barrakka gardens they will arrange your ride to fort Rinella which leaves soon after the firing of the gun. Your kids will really enjoy visiting the fort ---it`s one of...More

Malta Fishing Experience - help getting money back? (2 Replies)
Anyone had any experience with Malta Fishing Experience? Our Malta Fishing Experience: My brother booked & prepaid for this trip as a Birthday present. We confirmed the fishing the night before planned departure, went to Sliema only to receive an SMS 12 minutes before departure that the trip was cancelled. We immediately rebooked for 2 days later, which was confirmed. No problem. On the morning of the second attempt nobody was reachable, neither the so called "owner & captain" of the...More

Day 2...Valletta (2 Replies)
Took the bus into Valletta and had a walk round the cathedral, it's so pretty and serene. Then did lunch at caffe cordina in the square, think it's called that! . The youngsters took a horse and carriage ride , I bartered the driver down.. Had to chose the right horse though...son being a polo player, he knows his horses..and a few looked rather old and in need of some TLC... When they came back we wandered down to the war museum and then to the Malta experience show... Nice to be in AC place...More

Glad to hear you are having fun again in malta. A few things have changed eh ? Every time we go something has changed. Sometimes good sometimes bad and just lately sometimes sad but we still wouldn't go anywhere else. Keep up the trip reports.
