About
This state of the art building is spread over four floors and is not your typical Postal Museum. It offers a run through of Maltese history from the 15th century. The Museum also boasts of two temporary gallery spaces, a large audio-visual room and merchandising store. The temporary gallery spaces currently offer a collection of photographic prints by Richard Ellis, and what is arguably the finest collection of works by Emvin Cremona, regarded by many as one of the best Maltese artists of the 20th century.

At first time I went primarily to create/print a unique personalized stamp for my friends' birthday.
The helpful staff from the museum made an extremely good job with these stamps even though some technical issues happened to the special printer they have. I appreciate when I see someone really try to solve an issue.
As I live in Malta I had the opportunity to pick them up one week later and this time I decided to loose myself in the interesting and well presented museum.
Highly recommended place. Big thanks for Shanice!

I went here on a Tuesday in October because I'd read about it and all the art galleries are closed on Mon and Tues in Valletta. I endorse the description of the museum given in the introduction above. Sadly, some of the audiovisual displays were not in use because of Covid, but there some were running and there was a lot to see, admire and be interested in. It's easy to miss with it's small frontage tucked between bars and restaurant tables in the street but is worth doubling back for!

chanced upon this tinny museum while wondering the lovely streets of Valletta. Walked in expecting to be out in 15 mins but ended spend about 2 hours in there, beautiful black and white pictures that give a glimpse into Maltas History.
Never would have thought that stamp making could have such an impact on a country and the stories that stamps tell about the different phases and social awareness a country go through is incredible. I also enjoyed watching Malta's mail system, uniforms and means of transport evolve over the years. It almost feels like you are a part of it all due to the building's architecture and feel.
This museum also houses some of Malta's involvement in 2nd world war, black and white movies, letters and pictures.
Also, a little surprise when you make your way to the top floor. I recommend this whole heartedly.

This is a well presented , very interesting museum, The designs for stamps in the top floor exhibition were fascinating, and in every room there was just the right amount of information. Well worth a visit. The lady on the desk was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

What a lovely little find. Very friendly staff and a nice and interesting place with interactive displays that would also work well with kids. You can see displays of Maltese stamps up to about 2010, and interesting items of postal history including some post boxes.
There is also a really obliging post office where you can buy a variety of recent Maltese stamp issues.
A lovely couple of hours in the centre of Valletta.

My partner and I came across this gem of a museum on our last trip to Malta. It surpassed our expectations as a postal museum and we had a lovely time there. The lady at the front desk, Shanice I believe, was really friendly and gave us lots of her insight as an artist herself. It's located in an excellent spot in the capital city and wasn't too busy which definitely made the experience better. Would highly recommend it!

This museum is well curated and organized. Every stamp issued by Malta Post is exhibited, and there is a detailed history of the post in Malta.
We found the museum to be much more enjoyable after having visited places in Malta and understanding the country’s history.
A special art exhibit was on display during our visit
In addition to the museum, a full post office is on site. You can purchase postage and mail letters and postcards.

I spent two hours here on a rainy day in October and I loved it! It’s very informative in a cool way. It’s also very aesthetically pleasing. The receptionist was also very friendly and she was an arts studies graduate. The entire experience felt so authentic and refreshing. Highly recommend!

Had a talk at the top floor, we had free wifi for 2hrs, talk was great.
The place had sanitizer on every floor and at the entrance. The girl at the reception was friendly. Looked at the museum as I was going down the stairs, loved the stamps as I'm a stamp collector myself. The small chair under the stairs is a little gem!
I Will defiantly visit again to check everything out! :)
