We chose Luzzu because it has smaller boats which means it can get into more of the harbour than others with bigger boats. We went in November so it wasn't peak season. We saw the advice on Trip Advisor and other sites not to book ahead but to buy a ticket when we got to the harbour, and haggle. So we did and got a decent discount, just by asking. It might not work so well in the summer but I'd definitely recommend trying this approach in the off-peak season.

The tour is interesting and I'd say a "must do" if you are visiting Valetta or Sliema. You get to see some great views of the cities surrounding the two harbours - Valetta, Sliema and the Three Cities. The Grand Harbour really is that. Interesting and informative commentary adds to the sights.

Getting from one harbour to the other was a bit choppy, but added to the excitement.

Picked Luzzu cruises out of the huge number of options at the seafront at Sliema as the guys selling tickets wasn't too pushy! Loved the traditionally painted boat - smaller and more authentic somehow than the bigger more commercial looking boats. A lovely gentle two harbour cruise with lots of informative commentary about the history of the buildings and the harbours. No facilities on board but an hour and a half well spent!

Have used the Sliema ferry before on Malta and it saves time when wanting a break from using a bus, which at moment requires a face mask 😷 on both modes of transport. It’s only €2.80 for a day return and you get across the bay to Valletta from Sliema in minutes. €1.50 for one way.

We visited Sliema for a Harbour Cruise. On the day of our visit there were 3 companies offering them from the harbour-side booths. Two companies were offering a 'special price' of E10 and Luzzu were charging E13 because 'they went further up the creeks'. We opted for the latter as it was only E3 extra and, after all, you will only do the trip once.

Supreme Travels boat was small and left on time at 12.15pm. We never saw it again.

Captain Morgan and our boat were both due to leave at 12.30pm, it left on time and we left 5 minutes later. The annoying part was, however, that we spent the whole trip following it around the harbours with the only slight difference being that at one stage we took a short cut under a bridge whereas Captain Morgan went around the point (still remaining in front of us).

We returned after 75 minutes rather than 90 minutes but delayed disembarking whilst Captain Morgan then we moored. We felt that we had been conned with our extra charge and assume that others did also as we did not see anyone place a tip in the staff's bowl as they left the boat.

We were shown the ports of Valetta and given detailed explanations for 1 1/2 hours on a small but nice boat. The tour is also multilingual; when you buy the ticket you indicate in which language you would like to hear the audio guide.
On the tour you can see the enormous fortifications of the city and you suddenly realize what an enormous effort the building and construction of these protective walls must have been. Conclusion: very informative and educational. The price is completely OK. Also ideal if you want to escape the sun for a while and relax ;)

Excellent Tour of the harbour areas of Valletta and the 3 Cities. A full 90 minutes and excellent commentary. This tour goes a lot further than some of the competitors as the boat is a little smaller. Highly recommend.

The cruise we participated in is the one called Gozo, Comino and the Blue Lagoon. It includes departure from Sliema arriving after about 90 minutes in Mgarr, transfer by bus to Rabat and visit (without Guide) to Victoria Citadel. Then we move to Comino with a stop at the Blue Lagoon, visit the caves and return to Sliema.
Despite the large number of participants, it is necessary to highlight an optimal organization that allows to perfectly respect the timing of the various stages.
The time dedicated to the Citadel of Victoria ( h. 1.5) would seem insufficient but in the summer, due to the great heat, it is adequate.
Overall you spend a pleasant day.

I went on the cruise without going to Gozo, which looked like a bus tour round the island, whilst we had a longer stay in blue lagoon / comino with the ferry returning to pick those in Gozo up before dropping them back at blue lagoon/comino. We also stopped for a swim in st michaels bay I think, for about 30 minutes. Boat is fairly packed, not enough seats for everyone. Blue lagoon is okay, although fairly busy with all the other boats that go there, food there is mainly fast food, other than blue lagoon you can walk to st Mary’s / the watchtower in about 30 minutes. The terrain walking there is pretty rocky, trainers would be best, it’s only open certain days so only saw the outside. You have quite a long time in comino (2 hours I think) so you probably want to have lunch there, walk to at Mary’s / the watchtower then go for a swim. The boat leaves for about 30 minutes to go to Gozo and back. There are lockers at blue lagoon, which started at 5 euros. Take away places took card, boat said they preferred cash. After you leave blue lagoon it’s straight back to silema. Not much info on boat about what you’re visiting but a bit. Worth doing but could be better

This was a fantastic day event cruise. We left from Sliema and sailed to Gozo, stopped to drop off passengers, then went on to Blue Lagoon. They dropped us off and then picked us up a few hours later. On the way back we sailed through the Comino caves. Amazing views. Staff was incredible and special shout out to Vrant Pranoto who was extremely kind and friendly to all. He also reassured us that the trip back wouldn’t be as bumpy on the way back.

That being said it was a VERY bumpy ride on the way to Gozo.. This was mostly because of the wind. Keep this in mind if you get seasick and ask staff when you board if you should take Dramamine. We wish we had but we made it and it was worth it.

We have been to Malta 3 times over the past 18 months and have taken Captain Morgan's Cruises, Luzzu and the Marsamxetto Ferry Service.

The Marsamxetto Ferry Service has increased in price by 50% for the trip from Valletta to Sliema. it used to be 95 cents single. It is now €1.50 for a single. Luzzu have started a water taxi service for the same price. You can go when you want and it is quicker.

Our first Harbour Cruise was with Captain Morgan. It was very informative and we enjoyed it. The second time we went to Malta we decided to try the Luzzu Harbour Cruise instead (as we had already done the Captain Morgan one). I am so glad we did. The boat was smaller ( a traditional Luzzu) so we could get further up the creeks and closer to the sights. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we picked up more information than we had received from Captain Morgan.

The third time we decided that we wanted to visit the Sunday market at Marsaxlokk. We had previously taken a bus trip down there, but since the old 1950s buses had disappeared we opted for the boat trip instead. We left Sliema at 10am along with an armada of yachts from the Grand Harbour, very exciting! The trip to Marsaxlokk took about 50 minutes. It was an ideal way to see the coastline and villages that we had visited.

A 2 hour stay at Marsaxlokk was plenty of time to peruse the market, make some purchases and have lunch before returning to Sliema.

A lovely day.
