Strange customs, a statue to honour cats and across the road plaques commemorating cats that lived in the area. Food is put out by locals to feed the stray cats. reminds me of the dogs in Chile getting such good attention from locals.

The statue is in a small park that has swings etc for children. There is also a small house for cats, with a written request for people to leave food for the stray cats.

Located in Independence Garden in Sliema, the cat statue sits on a roof and below in the gardens are little houses for the colony of cats which live in the garden. The cat was put there originally for a local arts festival, but has now...More

If you travel with kids, this is an extremely cool place to take a photo or selfie. The cat statue is a type of outdoor decoration. The statue, of course, is located on the promenade. While walking, you will definitely come across the cat statue.

Lots of wild cats live here and some older woman take care of them. They feed them every day and give them the love they need. This is for sure a place to go, look and rest if you love cats.

Probably not of interest to some, but if you are a cat lover like me this is a must visit when in Valletta/ Sliema. The cats statue looked lovely in the sunset and there are SO MANY CATS nearby in the gardens next to it....More

A strange sight, and nothing to inform you what it is about but quite quirky, and a novelty for the kids

The statue itself isn't that impressive but what lies in the park is amazing. It's home for dozen homeless cats! They roam there freely and people keep feeding them. Next to the park is nice rocky beach to hang out (not so much swimming).

Located on top of a building on the seafront this ceramic cat looks out over the surrounding park grounds. This little park is the home of dozens of feral cats who live in some degree of comfort and are well fed by the locals.

Much larger than the photos look, this very colourful cat is a great landmark in the Independence gardens. Inspirational to all the other cats in the garden? I hope so.
