Located very close to St Paul's Church and the Wignacourt Museum, Santa Marija ta' Gesu is well worth stopping at to visit. It was clearly very important to the local population when one considers that the opulence of it would have been paid for in the main by the parishioners.

Beautiful church and frescos. Brillant job of roof restoration following collapse of dome. It is easy to walk past this building as it is on fairly busy one way street, but don't.!!

The Church of the Nativity of Our Lady (Maltese: Il-Knisja ta' Santa Marija ta' Ġesù), commonly known as ta' Ġieżu, is a Roman Catholic church in Rabat, Malta. The was built in 1500 and it was enlarged in 1757. It is adjoined by a Franciscan convent.

From the first steps in the opulence hits you. This is an extraordinary church, lavished with money over the passing centuries. You are left in awe of the amount of paintings, the amazing ceiling art, gold leaf literally everywhere. The church is hung extravagantly with drapes, paintings and finely crafted and painted statues.…
