About
This natural pool at the tip of Delimara Point is a unique swimming spot, perfect for a day of adventure and relaxation. There’s a large flat slab where you can sunbathe, or you can jump off the cliffs to swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters below. Just watch out for jellyfish. If you want to explore beyond the pool, wear good shoes and stroll along the rocky shore to find other stunning inlets like Peter’s Little Brother. You can also see historic landmarks in the area like Fort Delimara and the Il-Kalanka Lighthouse. Otherwise, visit St. Peter's Pool and other Malta highlights, including the Blue Grotto, on a full-day tour. – Tripadvisor

- Luna399Avignon, Francesuper pretty, on the other hand go in August rather in the morning, otherwise too many people in the afternoon, normal because nice spot!!! to do you can get there by bus without problem, then take the boat 10 E per person no student discount, which is right next doorVisited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 24, 2024
- Rhiannon StanleyRugby, United KingdomVisited here during our stay in Malta, this was a really great picturesque spot to have a sit down and relax for a while. The water is very clear and the views are really nice across the water. There were lots of people here relaxing and some even snorkelling. We visited in February so temperature was pleasant but would be an even better spot during the warm spring/summer months. It is close to Marxalokk the fishing village which is also really nice to visitVisited February 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten February 16, 2025
- Hunter JuneauHouston, TexasSt. Peter’s Pool in Malta is an absolute gem that truly exceeded my expectations! I went solo on a nice Saturday afternoon, and the place was alive with energy. Yet, it also had its serene pockets where you can lay down undisturbed, soaking up the sun or relaxing in the shade. The weather was perfect, with the sun shining brilliantly and the water at a perfect refreshing temperature. This spot caters to everyone. Whether you’re looking to lounge in the sun, take a swim in the crystal-clear waters, or experience the thrill of jumping off the rocks, St. Peter’s Pool has it all. A towel is a must-bring to lay on, as the rocks can be a bit dusty and it will dirty your swimsuit. At the top of the hill, there’s a small shaded restaurant/bar. While the menu mainly offers snacks, ice cream, cold beers, and small sandwiches, it’s just the right place to grab a quick bite or a refreshing drink after a swim. The atmosphere is lively and vibrant, making it a fantastic spot to meet fellow travelers and locals, revel in the stunning natural beauty, and unwind. I had an incredible time and can’t wait to return. If you find yourself in Malta, St. Peter’s Pool is an absolute must-visit! 🌞🏊♂️🍻Visited June 2024Traveled soloWritten June 16, 2024
- I highly recommend going to St Peters Pool with Rima Cruises, the tour shows you the highlights of the village of Marsaxlokk and also stop you at the pool for swimming. Their service was exceptional, very kind and helpful family run business. They are well organized and punctual !!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 13, 2024
- FaustoDeAAscoli Piceno, ItalyReally beautiful natural pools where you can dive into the blue and clear water of the sea. Unfortunately its popularity means that, parking is paid, there is a refreshment point before arriving at the destination and from here, the inevitable dirt that the hundreds of boys leave lying around between cans and cigarette butts. That's too bad. He deserves a lot more respect hereVisited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 19, 2024
- Views are lovely and it is worth seeing for that. On a sunny Saturday afternoon there were lots of people in the water. I was sorry we had not taken swimming things as it looked great. People were jumping off the rocky ledges but there is a set of stairs and some lower rocks you can use to enter the water. The crowd feels quite young. There looked to be no shelter from the sun.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 21, 2024
- JohnmclaneLleida, SpainNice sea entrance for a dip. No sandy beach, just rock. It is a meeting place for young people with what it entails. If you're over 25, you're a weird caller. We paid 3 euro for parking after hellish road where is impossible for 2 cars go next to each other and one or other car needs to reverse. After that you will come down to dirty, full of garbagge and crowded rocks above St. Peter's pool where you will find people shouting and jumping from rock to water. You can go to water further down where rocks are low but need to watch out for slimy seaweed. I fell instantly and I was careful but it is impossible to go walking normally into the water. We were there like 15 minutes and went to St. Thomas Bay where was small sandy beach where was almost no one. Avoid St. Peter's pool, not worth it. Btw if you expect some supervision or lifeguard at St. Peter's pool, no one is there! If someting happens to you there, it will be long time until someone qualified helps you so probably will be too late

An experience of a lifetime... jump from the cliff 4-5 meters or a smaller 2-3 meters heights or just climb down the steps. You can get your snorkels for pretty fishes if you want. Please remember to get your snacks & drink/ WATER. There is a small ice cream van serving ice cream and light snacks (limited though). Has a car park for 25-30 cars, gets filled by. 11 am. Best to arrive before noon to enjoy the dive in the sun. Excellent bus service till the Marsaxlokk town.
Reaching there requires a 2 km walk (with a steep walk for about 500metres, rest is easy 1.5kms) or take a cab €8 or a ferry €10.

Whether by land or by sea, this is a tourist spot par excellence, with its good and its bad…. Coming from Marsaxlokk, taking a boat for around €10, you can get here… by land too, but more difficult. Arriving here is the crowd of tourists jumping from the highest rocks, swimming, snorkling.
There should be surveillance and maintenance because there is a lot of trash and stagnant water on the sides. It has everything to be an excellent spot but without maintenance it will deteriorate.

We didn’t even make it past the car park. My partner who is Maltese asked in Maltese if we could have a quick look at the bay from a few meters away before going down and paying the money. Unfortunately, the man told us in Maltese and English that it was not possible. All we wanted to do was to check it was safe to get into the water before we committed to stay and paying the money in the car park. The man was very, very rude and aggressive both in Maltese and English, we decided to leave! Not a good experience!!!!

From the bus stop in San Peeters poll you have to walk about 30 minutes with the first 15 uphill (bring water and a hat). The road is on the opposite side of the stop. But the place is worth this little walk. It is not a sandy beach and is entirely rocky but there is room to spread out a towel. There are no bars or services. I recommend taking a walk, even to the right going up the mountain, because you will find a breathtaking view, without anyone but where you can take lots of photos and swim in the natural pools in the middle of the rocks.

Riddled with jellyfish. Warm lovely day, blue waters and our boat stops and out comes floaters and googles etc. within minutes one of our group stung and in pain and then another who got really stung bad. We all stood on boat to try and watch for so we could cool off, we jumped in and out and it was frightening - my 14 yo daughter no way was she! We love Malta but the swimming was such a disappointment, our guide said due to global warming jellyfish everywhere last several years and getting worse. The Greek Isles we swum everywhere and none- I’d go there instead.

It's hot and a little crowded but not too much at St. Peter's Pool. It's filled with tourists and Maltese people and though there may be a little traffic jam at the entry/exit into the water, there's plenty of space in the actual water. Conquer any fears/hesitations and jump into the water with all of the somersaulting kids and enjoy the clear blue water lapping against the limestone.
I took a quick boat tour there from Marsaxlokk and it's worth it if you're not driving. An easy 30-min boat ride takes you to a landing point and then a short walk leads to the actual pool. These tours can be booked from many different vendors in the fish market and you can choose how long you want to be at the Pool (1 hour, 2 hours, longer if you dare.)
At the Pool you can also walk up and there are some entrepreneurs selling cold drinks! Handy if you didn't drive in and pack a cooler.
About the area... it's hot, and not just because of the sun. The white limestone bounces the light and heat right back onto you, so you can get sunburnt even in the shade. Speaking of which, shade is very limited and if you have it handy, pack a parasol/sun umbrella. I didn't have them but you might like water shoes for entering and exiting the water in some areas.

This supposed insider tip is hopelessly overflowing. Bathing is only limited fun. Better walk 10min south to Il-Kalanka. Scenic even more beautiful, but with significantly fewer people, so you can also find a good place to lie down and swim almost undisturbed.

Truly a beautiful place with a wonderful sea. You can dive from different heights, but parking is a little difficult as it is only rock. Experience to be redone. The only flaw is the bar, the only one in the area, without everything including the bathroom and unpleasant staff with prices beyond any human rule.... a croissant, two magnums and a bottle of water 14 euros and 50....!!

We were in Marsaxlokk and looking for somewhere for a dip so headed to St Peter’s pool after seeing at the boat tours advertising trips there.
As we had the car we thought we’d drive there and get a bit closer with our swim stuff and drinks.
Positives:
- lovely clear waters
- lots of spots to jump in off if that’s your thing
Negatives:
- the advertised parking is poor, it’s €3 (not a problem) but the road to the place is single track all the way with one passing place and people trying to get in and out at the same time.
- the parking attendant was gruff and just ordered us where to park
- if you’re over 25 yrs or under 16 yrs don’t bother. The place was *rammed* with the youth, not a problem but felt out of place as a 40 yr old guys with kids.
So in conclusion - there are better places to go for a swim and bathe, which are a lot more family friendly and easier to get to.

I’ve done it and my children have done it (as young as 4) so go for it. There plenty of safe spaces to jump from but a couple of stupid places so observe, think and look where the others jump from.

I would like to know how to find a information about the round trip from Marsaxlokk Sunday Market to St. Peter's Pool. I saw a review that the trip was nice, but i cannot find any website or anything. Please give me advice if anyone knows. Thank you.

Once at the market there are about two different companies right there. They give you options on where they can take you. Round trip from to St. Peter's Pool was about $20 us I think

there where 4-5 different "companies" in the harbour.
