- Tams72Ringwood, United Kingdom12 contributionsOverhyped?Very busy early pm Mon 11th and water murky. Glad we had travelled there from Valletta for a boat trip and mot to hang around. Bus travel to there and back fab if a little late. Calamari in the cafe on the beach yummy!Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 18, 2023
- Georgina SavageBiggin Hill, United Kingdom275 contributionsFavourite beach in MaltaA very lovely beach on the Maltese island, the favourite one of our holiday. €16 for 2 beds and 1 parasol but similar prices elsewhere. Lovely beach bar would recommend the tuna Ftira, breakfast Ftira, honey and walnut cake and the Mojito! Great to see the sunset from the top of the hill!Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 7, 2023
- Tourist c_z_Zlin, Czech Republic76 contributionsNovember swimming just perfectI spontaneously visited this beach with my rented car in late November. I must say the water was warm and I enjoyed every single minute there. However, next day it was quite windy so I switched to Melieha Bay instead.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten January 6, 2024
- Lydia J65 contributionsGreat beach, incredible sunsetThis was our favourite beach over the trip. We were able to spend the whole day here and had a great time. The toilet facilities were not the best; however, the beach bar and sun loungers etc were great. The food and drinks were reasonable in price and the staff providing the sun loungers and umbrellas were very helpful. The beach was busy but the boardwalks made it more accessible and easily navigated. After spending time on the beach, we took a walk up around the bay and watched the sunset from over the beach.Visited June 2024Traveled with friendsWritten June 15, 2024
- paulmaureenandmollyLiverpool, United Kingdom293 contributionsExcellent HotelAmazing hotel recommended by a friend and not disappointed. Staff really helpful nothing too much trouble. Henri the head of customer relations a star again a mine of knowledge and don't know what the Hotel will do if he ever leaves ! Our room with a garden view in the Sunrise tower was perfect large in size it had a small kitchen area with all you would need utensils pots pans plates etc etc even washing up liquid ! Three pools inc a pool for adults only with jacuzzi and indoor pool and spa towels available but would recommend you bring possibly a couple more as whilst they are large and really good quality one extra alway useful we have found . lots of sun beds and security check for those residents placing a towel on a subbed and then going away they remove towel and any belongings ( after taking a photo) which thought was good as we candy stand selfish people. Breakfast full and plenty lots of choice we didn't have any evening meals as we prefer to look outside our accommodation only because we like the choice and flexibility. two restaurants linked to Italian themed one and essence of India (we went twice it was that good!) So would though-ally recommend for a peaceful relaxing stay and if you are a Raddison rewards member it can be even better valueVisited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 25, 2024
- Vonnie1976Sleaford, United Kingdom29 contributionsGorgeous little beachThis beach is beautiful! There is plenty of room for everyone.. one side of the beach is rocky walking into the sea, and sandy a little further up. You can hire pedlos with slides, & Jet skies, and there is a lovely cafe/ bar / restaurant.. Anything you want, you get there and great food portions. We've been there a few times, and we loved it!! Sunbeds and brollies and toilets are available.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 10, 2024

We spent a nice day here. You can rent beds and umbrellas or just bring your own. There’s a restaurant where you can buy drinks, food and snacks. It was crowded but it’s summer so i think it’s what I expected. We left as the sun was going down and it looked like people were setting up for an evening on the beach. The sunset was beautiful. I think we’ll go back, for sure.

Even in November in the middle of a pandemic the beach is packed on a fine day and the Carpark overflowing. DO NOT park along the road that runs out of the Carpark. There are double yellow lines most of the way along. They are almost invisible but the traffic wardens know they are there and you will be slapped with a €104 fine. If you do not settle it at a council office (impossible on line if you are a tourist) there will be a large administration fee added by your car hire firm as well. It cost us as much as the car hire in the first place. Not a good end to a much needed holiday.

It is post Christmas and what you need now is to chill out and for someone to wait on YOU. With this in mind I departed for the place that I knew, by past experience, would fulfil that very need. But would it still be the place I remembered? Yes, indeed! Stepping through the door, a year on, I was welcomed like a long lost friend. The place is quiet at that time of the year . . but that was why I was there! Without a word being said, dear old Radison Blue, had upgraded me to a suite overlooking the sea. And was that same warm greeting still awaiting me at breakfast next morning? It certainly was, in the shape of Henri greeting me like a long lost friend. To all hoteliers: should you want to know what customer relations looks like, then meet Henri, for he is the personification of all that any guest could wish for.
A quiet walk now after breakfast? Climb the gently ascending path to the De Redin Tower, one of a series of small coastal watchtowers built in Malta between 1658 and 1659. The walk is worth it, not only for the view, but as I soon discovered, for the fauna. For to my surprise, perched on a little conifer tree nearby, I encountered a small chameleon. It seems that they were introduced by missionaries returning from North Africa during the nineteenth century. Why? No one knows!
Will I return yet again? More than likely; for it is not only the bay that is golden but the Radison Blue, Henri and all that still waits to be discovered in peaceful Malta.

Fairly average beach. Sunset is great but if you want a nice clean sandy beach then go to Mellieha Bay which is cleaner and has a lot more options.
The 101 bus is sporadic if you are travelling from Mellieha and given it is one an hour, that’s not ideal. Suggest taking a taxi which I quick and quite cheap - it cost me 9€.

Lovely sandy beach, beach bar with food and drinks which accepts card, close by toilets (no toilet roll), water sports including paddle boards, sunbeds to rent for €5 and umbrellas for €4. Showers in the toilet and one in the sunbed rental shop.
Beautiful views and worth a visit. Crystal clear water. The beach is a little small so gets quite busy.

Beach is at the bottom of a small hill where bus stop is at top - Ghajn Tuffieha. Around 25-30 min bus ride from St Paul's Bay.
Beds €6 and brollys €4 available from kiosk at bottom and guys carry beds to where you want to be on beach.
Lifeguard on beach.
It's a shame the beach doesn't seem to get cleaned much as it's full of fag ends and small bits of rubbish and there's bins available!
Going into the sea its quite rocky for around 6ft then sandy so you might need your beach shoes as some rocks are quite large and very uncomfortable to say the least.
Beach bar selling food and drinks at reasonable prices and public toilet.
Not my favourite beach if I'm honest compared to Mellieha Bay though does have some decent breaking waves to mess around in .

Lovely picturesque beach with great views. Very crowded but that’s to be expected in August. Prices at beach bars very reasonable which was great to see as so many in similar positions inflate their prices to a captive audience. We shared a pizza at the Radisson Blu beach bar - not much more than we would have paid at the other beach bars but far nicer to sit in. Took an Uber there for 25 euros from Senglea and bus back (4 euros). Good day out.

Although we have visited Malta allot, this place never fails. Stunning beach and safe waters. Outstanding beach cafe where the staff are incredible and even the fact you have little choice other than to use this or bring your own, the prices are very very readable.

Dear All, I am planning on staying at this location in November. However, my wife is terrified of lizards and geckos! Please can you tell me if you encountered any in this area, particularly if you travelled in November. If you did encounter any, were they on the beach, the street or even in your hotel? Many Thanks
