Lovely spot for swimming even in February. A bit busy as there were 6 other people there. Came from Sannat via Ta Cench cliffs.

Beutiful bay, nice cafe but most expensive we have found on the Island. One tea and granual coffee €4.5o usually only €2 in every other bay cafe, beware. I guess that's why the divers were eating & drinking their own?

A great little quite secluded bay with cafe facilities etc selling good food at reasonable prices. Crystal clear water ideal for swimming/snorkelling etc. The only downside to Get there it's a long winding very narrow and very steep road in places.

If you are thinking of visiting don’t confuse Mgarr ix-Xini with its much larger neighbour Mgarr where the ferry terminal is located. Mgarr ix-Xini by contrast seemed to us to be somewhere to visit if you want to get away from the crowds for the...More

Mgarr ix-Xini is an off the beaten track inlet with wonderful views out to sea and excellent swimming. Food is available on the shore. The bay is approached along a very narrow steep road that descends to the sea and there is space for a...More

This is a beautiful deep-water inlet on Gozo's South coast. The access road is narrow and steep, leading to limited parking space. Therefore, it never gets over-busy (unlike Hodoq, for instance). There is an alternative route for walkers from Sannat. The beach-front restaurant has a...More

This beach is a gorgeous little hidden gem, rather quiet compared to other beaches in peak season. However the main restaurant is rather expensive, which is understandable as they have a monopoly over the place. Also watch out for the taxis that come down, we...More

Best beach for swimming on Gozo (3 Replies)
Just wondered what's the best beach for swimming. We're going late August. So far I've discovered: Ramla: dangerous currents and reefs Hondoq: Marsalforn: busy San Blas: difficult to get to Mgarr Ix-xini : What about the jelly fish this year?
