This is an amazing church hidden in the old town in the narrow streets. The church ornaments are fascinating.

I always enjoy visiting churches and cathedrals wherever we go and this is one of the most beautiful. Gold throughout with seemingly no expense spared! A wonderful sense of tranquility, respect and community. It sits in a pretty little square further away from the larger square which is more of the 'hustle and bustle' and twittering songbirds. Certainly worth dipping... More

A very grand building indeed, such opulence and luxury . Sadly it only makes me think of the squalid conditions of the people living around this church when it was built and possibly to this day.

Lavishly decorated but for an average non-Catholic tourist not likely to be that distinguishable from many other similar superb baroque style churches on the island. It does have in its favour the fact that it is conveniently located in the centre of the city and adjacent to the Archaeology Museum and you can see both and take in lunch in... More

Stopping for some lunch in the square outside the church, we had plenty of time to admire the facade of this stunning church (Maltese service leaves a lot to be desired). Inside, the darkness and ornate Baroque decor add to an air of reverence, irrespective of your religion. Malta is full of beautiful churches and this certainly does not disappoint... More

Visited St. George's Basilica last week. Quiet and spiritual in the midst of hustle and bustle it was a moment for quiet reflection and to appreciate the beauty of the church and how the reverence has remained on this island and respect for God. Hope it never changes.
