Grat bay for swimming and snorkling. Ease into the sea down a few steps. Lots of fish to see under the crystal clear water. Easy parking with good public toilets. Highly recommend.

There is a lovely walk you can do through the salt pans. You can either take the road and see them from above, or go literally along them. Just beware that you should not step on them, as some of them are still used.

This review is based more on the area. I am a diver and travel here for 30 days of diving every year (Lucky me!!) This is an area where diving is easy so is often a check out dive. The views are stunning. Lots of locals swim around here as its quite sheltered. (Be careful of stinging jelly fish however) A couple of cafes nearby but the sort of shack on the road is ace for basics. I would highly recommend Gozo anyway but this area too is nice

Lovely little bay which when we visited (May) was not too busy. The salt pans are particularly interesting as I'd not seen anything like them before. Just a shame there is no information there about how and when they are used.

This beautiful bay is situated on the outskirts of Marsalforn. The bay itself is ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving. On the rocky beach you are able to hire sun umbrellas and sun loungers. A 20 minute walk around the headland takes you into Marsalforn. There a 're a number of dive sites accessible from the bay or just round the corner, including double and triple arch, the infamous washing machine and the labyrinth, where you will usually find plenty of life and especially octopus. Be careful to adhere to the required rules for keeping away from the slipway, due to required boat access. In peak season the bay is served by two very reasonably priced kiosks, with great food. The infamous beautiful salt pans are also just round the corner from the bay.

We climbed the hill and the view was really nice. The beach was full of divers and swimmers so we decide to not to swim there. But I am sure it would be worth as anywhere in Gozo.

lovely bay, but beware odd currents 5-6 p.m. It is a pity that the surroundings are not graced with some more facilities, not the concrete-over type mind you! It is reached if one walks through St Mary Street from Marsalforn direction Qbajjar. The sad thing is that the bus services to Zebbug, just up the hill and Marsalforn or not combined to offer more frequent bus timings

We paid a visit to Xwejni Bay whilst having a mini tour of Gozo, before moving on to see the nearby Salt Pans.
The first thing that stood out to us as being unusual was the large peculiar shaped rock at the end of the bay. This large rock is called 'Lunar Hill'.
In fact in this particular area you will see a few unusual shaped rocks. The reason for this is that centuries ago the sea eroded the limestone cliffs into large relatively flat areas of rock.
Xwejni Bay has a pebbly beach and is popular with swimmers and scuba divers.
The area was fairly busy during our visit. We enjoyed our time there.

The Tourist Info centre in Victoria has a selection of 7 booklets describing different guided walks around Gozo and Comino. We picked up the Saltpans booklet which if you do the whole thing is 12km starting and finishing in Victoria. Instead we drove to Qbajjar Bay and had a lovely walk along the Saltpans and cliffs to Ghasri Valley and back. (About 2.5 km each way). The booklet is full of helpful info about what you are seeing as you walk.
We swam at Qbajjar on our return - after full beaches at the weekend it was just us and two local couples on Monday at 10.30. Great start to the day!

And its slso perfect for watching a wonderful sunset as its facing west .. its one of the really best spots
