Great for seeing Gozo on foot or by car.
Great ferry - easy to use to get over to Gozo. Only complaint would be the lack of clarity around tickets on the outgoing journey. You do not need to buy a ticket from Malta to Gozo, you are charged on the return at the ticket booths located on the ramp up to the ferry itself. All of this could have been made a lot clearer - as it was actually loads simpler than I had imagined……

    Very good service
a service that improves from year to year. Crossings are generally fast; however, note that some ferries do not allow cars. There are catering and snack options available inside, best option to visit Gozo otherwise you can use private boat but more expensive

    Efficient and smooth
Arrived at the port with the bus which dropped passengers directly outside terminal building. It was a quick walk through onto the ferry for Gozo, no payment taken at this time. The ferry was clean and the ride smooth. There are stairs at the terminals. The return journey was just as efficient with payment taken at Gozo port. The day we travelled the weather was calm and sunny so no issues with delays or cancellations.

Easy and cheap crossing from Malta to Gozo
Simple and practical option for transfer from Malta to Gozo. The ferry takes about 25 minutes to cross. There is a restaurant on the ferry and a shop where you can buy simple things. You can use the ferry as a pedestrian or by car. There are also several decks where you can follow the journey.

    Fast reliable and affordable service
The best connection option between main Island and Gozo. It is used by locals and tourist. Friendly stuff ready to help you with heavy luggage or provide necessary information. If you have time, it suggest to book your tickets online as they offer additional discounts. We used it couple of times during our vacation and found its been reliable.

    Can’t fault it
We took our hire car over to Gozo for the afternoon on the ferry. Very efficient, on time, modern & clean with a cafe & shop on board. Great views from the top deck of the surrounding islands. Good value for money and a super easy way of getting to Gozo.

    Really easy to use transport
So easy to use, quick and very clean boats. C€20 for a return for a family with a car. You pay when you come back from Gozo. There are 3 ferries per hour at the peak times, so all v easy.

    Excellent service
Easy to use, quick, efficient, cheap and reliable. We used the ferry for a day trip as foot passengers and it couldn't have been easier. Less than €5 each return. There was plenty of seating available and the snack bar was very reasonably priced. Less than €10 for 2 soft drinks and 2 giant cookies.

    Smooth and Scenic Journey!
The Gozo Ferry is fantastic! The ride is smooth, with stunning views of the Maltese islands and the crystal-clear sea. The service is efficient, and the ferries are clean and well-maintained. A relaxing and enjoyable way to travel between Malta and Gozo.

    Scenic journey
The ferry ride was very nice and was also quite cheap compared to the other ferries to get to Gozo! I would use this service again! Only thing I would say is confusing is that the terminal in Malta has a sign that says to pay there whereas the website and members of staff in Malta said to pay in Gozo on your way back which was very confusing!

The local bus dropped us off straight outside the terminal building, the ferries are very frequent and the cost is very reasonable at €4.65 round trip.
There is an outdoor seating area and a very affordable cafe serving the usual snacks and beverages including alcohol.
There are onboard toilets and the journey takes approximately 20-25 minutes.
The terminal in Gozo gives you the option of two hop on hop off bus companies to chose from or you can make your own way around the island.

Travelled to Gozo via ferry from Cirkewwa in Malta , queueing for ferry a bit mad as you queue to get into a room first which holds the people boarding the next ferry which comes every 15/20 min then queue to get on ferry, take it all with a pinch of salt and smile, also tour operators trying to sell tours of Gozo island to you. Well my wife and decided we would just wait an hour or two on island so did not avail of these tours. Once we arrived on Gozo port we walked up the hill and were approached by an elderly taxi driver who offered to bring us round the whole island on a guided tour for 80 euro, we agreed and spent the next 4 hours being chauffeured round the island visiting numerous sights that would never be seen on any tourist bus trip. Visited churches, went out to sea to see caves, had lunch in Pierres (Fantastic Seaside Restaurant) overlooking Marsalforn Bay, visited craft centres, underground caves (Sherries) , views of Sicily plus a lot more. This man was so passionate about the island having lived there all his life and was great company, no rush.
So if you do go to Gozo , try the local taxi drivers for a wonderful day out to remember.

We took this ferry to Gozo and back in late December 2021, at the start of Malta's Omicron wave. Once you are on the ferry itself, there are plenty of places outside (on the "sun deck" of the ferry) to sit, stand, and enjoy the views of the Gozo Ferry. However, on both the Malta side and the Gozo side, you wait for the ferry in a fully indoor waiting room and you board the ferry through a fully indoor passageway. Especially on the Mgarr/Gozo side, the waiting room is small and fills up with a lot of passengers, making social distancing is impossible. We tested negative for COVID at the end of our Malta trip, but the waiting room for the ferry at Mgarr was probably the biggest COVID risk of our entire trip.

As far as the actual trip, we took this ferry on an extremely windy day and it didn't feel choppy, we didn't get seasick. It is a big boat and easily stands up to Malta's worst weather.

Check in for the ferry was slow and about 35 people were let through before us even though we had pre-paid tickets. Gates were then closed with 8 people in front of us. We then had to wait for 4 hours to get the next ferry. Once on Gozo, the return ferry was cancelled and we had to wait for another hour to ensure we caught a ferry back. Stressful and disappointing.

We have travelled on the Gozo ferries countless times in past years and the experience has always been very positive. However on this occasion, after a year away, we found ourselves on a totally different ferry boat. It had no lifts and the stairs were narrow and steep. It was just impossible to carry several heavy suitcases up to the lounge area. The only option available was to leave them unattended in the car deck or stay with them. Overall a really bad experience. Apparently this ferry operates on some of the timetable and the other 'usual' ferries still carry on the route.

Being lugged around in tourist mode by taking a crowded panoramic bus that leaves 30 minutes late, takes three quarters of an hour to arrive, you even stop at a place for a photo and you don't even see what's there so pretty to take. Then you land in town and there you have 1h30 tops to see what you want to do. We did the citadel in fast mode. Pretty but not completely crazy either with a view of buildings where you feel more like you're in Beirut than on vacation.
And back the same

Simple as one, two ,three. Didn't even prebook on line, we just rolled up to the ferry terminal in the hire car at Cirkewwa which is the most northern part of Malta. You don't even pay untill you return from Gozo. The rental car with two non-resident Maltese passengers came to a tad over 20.00 Euro return. Add another 5.00 Euro or there abouts for each extra passenger. Ferries run approx every 45 minutes, The trip takes 25 minutes.

There are no timetables, and when the ferry is full it sets off. From Malta to Gozo it's free, and the return trip is €21 for 2 adults with a car. The crossing takes 20 minutes.

Tip: You should already be in Malta by sunset. Otherwise it will be tough. 90 minutes on Sundays for 10 kilometers. The bottlenecks are the roundabouts.

Drive on
Drive off…
Drive back on then off again.
A special Mention to the crew and customer service gentleman on the Malta side who managed to recover a Lost mobile phone left on the upper deck during the 4.00 pm Crossing on Saturday 11th August.

My faith in human decency is restored.
The company is first class and most reputable.

Excellent ferry operator, timely and smooth crossing. Plenty of places to sit inside and on deck. Toilets were clean, which is always a positive. On the way back from Gozo we had a coffee and bite to eat which was good quality and of appropriate price, not a ripoff like many other ferry operators. Staff were friendly also.
