Very large selection of restaurants and gelato kiosks. Three small convenience stores if you want to self cater. Several dive shops if you are into scuba diving or snorkling. This would be a wonderful place for a holiday - beautiful in the winter months with lovely buildings and an easy walk to the salt pans down the coast. I got the early morning bus here to take advantage of the quiet and the early morning light before most of the restaurants and coffee shops were even open. I would imagine its different in the summer, packed with holiday makers from around Europe chilling out and enjoying the scenery and the bars.

It was a lovely day, you can swim in the water. The salt planes nearby were very nice to see. On some days you can take a peak into the cellar where they store the salt and buy some. Worth stopping by, but maybe not driving there just for this. We went around the whole island with a taxi for a very good price, Maria Lourdes Formosa brought us everywhere safely and told us interesting things about the location and local customs. Very recommendable! (You can reach her on +356 9942 9274).

Lovely to be back in beautiful Marsalforn with its blue sea and bay full of cafes and restaurants overlooking the water. The place gets extremely busy in the tourist season but there is a village car park a few hundred yards from the Bay and it is accessible by bus from Rabat. Come to Marsalform to enjoy sea, sun, and good local food.

We love Marsalforn Bay at any time of the year but on this occasion (after a year away) we were there in bad weather. the wind was blowing, the rain came down and the waves were crashing up on to the pavement and shoreline. It was very atmospheric!! Even in bad weather this place is attractive and has many lovely restaurants to explore.

Marsalforn Bay is a charming little seaside town on Gozo. It is still a working fishing village and this means you have the freshest fish and seafood served in the restaurants that line the entire bay. Nearly all the restaurants offer a lovely sea view whilst you dine and our favourite was Pierre's. They served the freshest, most delicious seafood at reasonable prices.
The beach area is quite small but there are plenty of rocky areas you can swim from plus the concrete sea breaker lining the bay is used by many people to sunbathe and swim from.
I imagine Marsalforn Bay can get extremely busy in the summer but it's still worth spending a day here.

Marsalforn Bay is advertised as one of Gozo’s most popular beaches. It’s a nice enough bay with plenty of restaurants but the beach itself is tiny. If you are looking for somewhere to go for a seafront lunch or dinner then Marsalforn will meet your expectations, if you’re wanting to lie on a beach, go elsewhere

Right in the city center, it is a small beach. Quiet during our visit with families, couples.
Possibility of taking deckchairs or just a towel on the sand.
Nice afternoon after morning visit to the coves and viewpoint.
There are restaurants and snacks right next door.

Stopped here for lunch on our full day quad bike tour of Gozo. So did not have time to experience all the sights, but first impressions were that it is a nice quiet harbour town.
Certainly caters for most water sport activities and has plenty of places to eat and have a cool beer. Definitely worth a visit if in Gozo.

Small area pans next to small fortress, easy to find. Beautiful place, you can see clear blue waters and old men fishing. Interesting to see!
By the way: take grom Mgarr Harbour bus number 322 to Marsalforn, you see spectacular view and authentic small villages. And the bus is not so crowded as the ones going directly to Victoria. Walk app 15 - 20 minutes from Marsalforn to salt pans.

The bay is very beautiful with a nice small beach at one end. Lots of good places to eat at reasonable prices. Water is warm and clear. Good place for snorkelling but as usual with med you only see small fish. But its safe with lifeguards on all day. If you go up the hill past tge beach there are better swim spots but also signs for tricky currents. Marsalforn is a super place for a relaxing holiday. Enjoy!

Can I use my ferry pass for the buses in Gozo
Written July 27, 2017
You can use same bus pass for both Malta and Gozo, the best is to buy a week pass, but as i remember ferry pass is not connected to buses.
Written November 8, 2017
hi, how far is from the ferry please, could we use the seven day pass we have for the bus?
Written May 24, 2017
yes your pass would be fine as anywhere on Gozo is accessable as the Island is only 9miles by 3 miles.
