We visited the Sanctuary in October and were totally taken aback by the setting, its history and religious importance. But most of all, we were amazed by the fantastic collection of Andrea della Robbia sculptures - their beauty, size, prominence in making the Sanctuary the...More

La Verna is an excellent destination for those who want to experience some of the spirit of St. Francis. Yes, it is touristic, yes, it can be overcrowded at times, but in spite of all that, the place still has enough tranquility and atmosphere to...More

I have been going to La Verna for many years; it is a singularly overwhelming experience--both for the artwork and for the sheer spiritual nature of the place. Not to be missed.

A must see in this area. Slightly hairy ascent in the car; beware coaches descending round the hairpin bends! Well worth the drive. An incredible, peaceful and spiritual site. Beautiful basilica with amazing ancient wall ceramics; the corridor fresco stories are fascinating and very impressive....More

I'm not sure, but would imagine that this is possible. You could probably go to their website and find out. It's really worth the effort to go here.
