This continues to be the best attraction in the Bethany Beach area, now in a new building with a much improved theatre that has more comfortable seating and excellent sightlines. The host, Rich Bloch, continues to attract top magician talent, whose shows are suitable for both children and adults. Yesterday, we saw Will Fern, a human dynamo and skilled prestidigitator, although I hardly realized the latter because i was too busy laughing throughout, along with the rest of the audience.
I have never seen a weak performance here. There is a dining room for preshow eating (some days a full meal, yesterday just light fare which was excellently prepared). There are also comedy shows three days a week, which I have not seen and will this cannot review, but knowing Rich suspect they would also be top-notch

Dickens Parlour Theatre is back !!!😊😊😊
After being closes seemingly forever, their grand opening at their new location was this weekend and we attended the Sunday matinee..
Rich Bloch looks like he thought of everything on the new building. Yes, there are more seats but there isn’t a bad seat in the house. Lighting and sound is superb. The theatre has a fairly large dining room and a modern kitchen to host a variety of functions, such as “dinner and a show”.
It appears they’ve partnered with the Good Earth Restaurant next door in the culinary department.
Oh yeah, the show today was more of a variety with a magician, singers and a great band. If you’re looking for “post COVID feel good fun”, this is THE place. Hats off to Rich and his crew!!

What a special treat this place is! We’ve been to the old location a few times before, the new theatre is fabulous. The shows are awesome, always top professional magicians. Anytime we’re in the area we’re sure to plan an evening at Dickens.

Rich Bloch and his wife has taken nothing and made something wonderful out of it. A lawyer and professional magician, Rich has converted a large garage and nearby house into a tasteful magician's theater setting for kids from 1 to 92. He has attracted quality magicians from all over to perform for the local audience and occasionally Rich performs himself. The adjacent coffee house offers after show refreshments.
We have been most impressed by the quality of multiple performances. Seating is good and since there is no place to hide, those afraid of magic applying to them personally should stay away!

My sister has a condo a few miles from the Dickens Parlour Theatre; for years we've said, "We should see a show sometime." but we never did. We finally got tickets to see a show and it was TREMENDOUS fun! We saw John George (aka Juan Jorge) who does sleight of hand magic. Everyone in the audience from young to old really enjoyed the show. John is a great showman -- he didn't just amaze with the tricks, he had a real chemistry with the audience. After the 1 hour show, you can go back to the parlour and see a few tricks performed by the owner, Rich Bloch. At the parlour, you can get drinks (soda/beer/wine etc) as well as snacks.
Each week a new magician comes to the theatre. I think the rotation happens on Wednesdays. You can check on the website to see who's coming. From what I've heard, I think all the magicians are top notch.
Oh, also ask about the collection of clocks and the chandelier in the parlour!

The Dickens Parlour Theater specializes in magic shows that captures the interest and enthusiasm of the audience with wonderful feats of magic and heavy audience participation. The featured performer was Randy Forster and every child had the opportunity to participate in Randy's magic. Randy's personality, humor, and magic made it a very enjoyable evening. Bill& Lou Ann

We were a group of 36 senior citizens on a three-day excursion from New Jersey. With the addition of a second small group, we filled the theater for a fantastic evening of magic, laughter, and audience participation! The magic was totally amazing, and Rich’s on-point adlibbing kept us in stitches.
I would definitely recommend this show for “something different” in the area.

I took two of my sons to see the incomparable Rich Bloch, the owner of Dickens Parlour Theatre (I recommend googling his name; he's top-notch, a complete master, in two career disciplines; a fascinating person.) They loved it. It definitely will have an impact on their lives, of the "I remember when I saw ..." variety when they're older. It was absolutely amazing. When we weren't laughing, our jaws were dropping. It was mind-blowing. Wow! (And I'm the type of person who is reluctant to use exclamation points.) Double wow!! (OK, that was a bit excessive.) We will be back, maybe even with the third, and more rambunctious, son in tow. The other two told him all about it, and now he's clamoring to go.

We didn't expect much from a small town magic venue. But the show was incredible. You walk into the tiny theater and think, this is really rinky dink. We now know that magic is better in a small, up close room. Drinks and snacks are available pre-show if you want. No pressure if you don't. Don't miss the after show! Magicians do up close slight of hand that will blow you away.

Magic is a joy magic well done doubly so! This was our first visit but it will not be our last. Magic is at its best up and in this 60 seat venue no seat is far away. Rich Bloch the owner serves as MC and the warm up act and clearly was a master of his craft. Dave Cox, the headliner was definitely top shelf. I can't speak to others that have performed but there have been more than a few bigger name performers. When not doing magic the theater serves as home to the local theater group.
