Lefkara is one of the Cypriot villages to be visited. You must walk in the arrow streets and watch the amazingly bold houses, shops etc tip: buy from their laces or silver hand made .

Lefkara is historically famous for it's delicate, hand made lace items, which you can still see being made but a lot of work is also undertaken by machines now. It is also famous for it's silver work. The streets are narrow and the houses colourfully painted. There is a real sense of village life and community and it is a pleasure to walk through the streets. There is a traditional kafeneio in the village, a meeting place for the men of the village and something which you don't see very often nowadays unless you head off the beaten track or in Nicosia. The people were very friendly and welcoming and the views high up in the mountains were glorious. We visited on our way back from Nicosia, as it is only a small detour and none of us had ever been. We are glad we went. A lovely visit.

Nice small village in the mountain with small streets to visit and make a good walk . Is perfect for a trip
