We had a wonderful time in the rafting center, we highly recommend it.

The bungalows are very nice, clean, spacious and with a great bathroom (we had the “lux” option). The food is excellent and healthy. People are very kind, flexible, and resourceful. The rafting was an excellent experience and seeing the canyon from the river was great. We also did a hike in Sutjeska National Park and the guide and the driver were amazing. We highly recommend staying there to do hikes.

Good comms initially.

Decent accommodation, clean, shower facilities good for the price.

Activities very fun, with comprehensive safety briefings but not over the top.

Rafting was excellent on the Tara river, and quad biking too.

Food excellent with what seemed like a variety so well catered for.

Would definitely recommend

We had one of the best trip in this property. All staff are very helpful. They prepared tasty vegetarian food for us. Activities were managed nicely. We opt for transport from Sarajevo, it was good vehicle. Everything was one time.

We have been in the camp for 3 nights and every single time we had to wait for dinner for at least 2 hours and for breakfast for about 1,5. We had 5 kids with us and tried to come in contact with waiters every time – no result! They just look through us! One day we had to start giving kids old food from the previous day – not even bread and water was it possible to get no matter HOW MANY TIMES we asked. It was true for both weekends with many people and Monday with few people in the camp.
In houses for 4 people the windows can’t be opened, and sleeping with open door results in extremely loud music – nearly whole night Saturday and Sunday, and again Monday night. The organizers also forgot that we should go rafting. All in all – do not go there if you want more than loud disco and drinking.

Stayed here for 3 nights. With 2 days of activities. Canyoning and rafting. Canyoning was mental, 4 in d group + instructor. Everybody should try this once in der life. Rafting was handy enough because the water was low. Got a chance to jump off a cliff edge into the water. Had to be a good 40f. Pure adrenalin for all d activities ( Daniel was our instructor for the 2 days an hes a legend) with a much more relaxed atmosphere around d camp. 3 meals a day not once was I hungry. So much food u cannot eat it all. The only bad thing was all the driving but it takes time to get to beautiful places. Border crossings was crazy long. I'll be back again in future defo. Great team, great camp, GREAT EXPERIENCE

We have arrived with our friends for the best four day tour with three nights arrangement, designed to really be able to look at the beauty and size of the canyon. Since wheater was not good and it has been raining, we have been aiming for one day of rafting. But, this didn't happened as there wasn't any aprovment in wheater next morning. Regardless, we have had a good time thanks to the excellent staff who did look after us and offered very nice dinner and breakfast. We shall come back.

Although most of us have heard of Bosnia Herzegovina, rare are still tourists going there. Big mistake for them, but excellent new for the ones really willing to enjoy a true outdoor and nature experience!

Personally, I took a night bus from Podgorica in Montenegro, to Foca in Bosnia Herzegovina. The way there on its own is safe, but rather long (count at least 5h), and I would say for experience people, since some of these mountain roads are sometimes pretty tortuous lanes!

If opting for the same option, I would only recommend to take a day bus, since the scenery is absolutely fabulous, especially after crossing the border. Be as well aware that only 3 buses a day drive from Podgorica to Foca, and that the night bus takes a different route, not passing through Scepan Polje, nor stopping in from of the Bastasi rafting center. Reaching the camp was therefore an adventure for me. But Borko, the guy in charge of it, was so nice and helpful, to send me a free taxi to pick me up in Foca, although only arriving there at 4:15 AM!

Another common way to go to Bastasi, would also be to rent a car; easiest would then be to come from Sarajevo, since car renting companies might charge you extra if coming from Montenegro.

Now, let's talk about the Bastasi center itself. WHAT A PLACE! For me, it was nothing else than a child dream! The camp is based about 20 km away from Foca, which seems to be the closest city. It's therefore so unexpected on those days, to be in such a relaxing and somehow remote place, where the two most pleasant sounds are the ones of birds, and of the Tara river flowing just next to the camp.

I was lucky to stay there over two very warm and sunny days of June. But whatever the conditions might be, I'm sure you would have a very pleasant stay. The place is for adventurers and camping lovers: your accomodation would basically consist in some sort of a wooden tent, only furnished with a quick size mattress for two, or in a wooden bungalow, I think for 3 persons. In each "tent", only a plug, and a bulb on the roof. But believe it or not, the simplicity of the place made it so special and so attracting!

The camp can probably welcome at least 100 people. Only a few meters away from your accommodation, are very clean and simple toilets and outdoor, but super warm showers. It's next to the meeting area consisting in a covered wooden terrasse filled with many stiff wooden tables and banks. Here, you will enjoy the biggest food portions I've ever had in my many city trips around Europe, be it for breakfast (cured meat assortment, fried eggs, tea and coffee, bread and jam, cheese), for lunch or dinner. On top of the quantity, the food quality is also excellent, since everything is organic, and freshly prepared for each meal.

On sunny days, nothing is more pleasant as well than enjoying a drink on the smaller part of the open terrasse overhanging the fantastically clear and light blue Tara river, or having some rest in one of the hamacs next to it.

In spite of available internet and GSM connection there, I've rarely enjoyed such a quiet and relaxing place. Just enjoy the moment without checking your watch. Spend some time with the very friendly local people (communication is not always very easy, since English is not yet very commonly spoken there, but there are other ways to understand each other), or just play some outdoor games with your adventure fellows.

Of course, when going to Bastasi, it's mainly to experience true adrenaline adventures! Personnaly, I could only try the 18km rafting day, since on my second day there, noone wanted to do canyoning. But this was still fabulous. Well equipped with full neoprene suit and boots, a helmet and a safety jacket, you're ready to leave the camp at 11:00 AM. After crossing the border at Scepan Polje, your jeep brings you to one of the nicest and deepest European canyons. After a few explanations by the an experienced instructor, you're ready to go through the rapids of the Drina and later on Tara river, in your 8-member plastic boat.

Not so difficult at the end, if following the instructions, and paddling together with your team. But what a super fun, great, and unforgettable time. You will for sure get wet, but this is part of it. You might regularly be close to fall out of your boat, or think you'll sink. But in fact, it's really safe, since your feet are quite well secured on the boat. On the way down the river, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. Not mentioning as well the splendid waterfall where we all make a short stop in the afternoon.

Once back to the camp, after a warm shower and strong meal, just relax and enjoy the evening party. Quite a different music style compared with Western Europe, but what an atmosphere around the camp fire!!!

Last but not least, you'll enjoy all that for a very reasonable price.

So, rather than adding more to this already quite long comment, just don't wait any longer before going to the Bastasi rafting center, and enjoying both the camps and activities by yourself. I also forgot to mention that there is a wide scope of extra possibilities: hiking, jeep safari...

Fantastic place!
Accommodation is very nice, lux bungalows are really great option and can be in ''glamping'' section!
River Tara is something that you have to see and feel in your lifetime!
Hospitality is great, honest, and staff is really nice, you can feel welcome at any time, even if arrive at 11.30PM and have dinner :)
Organization is very good, many guides, waiters, skippers and everybody do their job very professional and yet very warm.
Food is incredible! Tasty, but maybe too much food, for me at least
Canyoning in Hrcavka canyon was fantastic, I would recommend this as No1 activity!
It took 3h of driving to get here from Dubrovnik, road to here is picturesque
If going to Montenegro coast after, OStrog Monastery is nice to visit.
