Good display, knowledgeable able staff and excellent short documentary. Definitely worth an hour or so to learn more about Iceland’s geology.

There isn't much to do in this town, so the Volcano Museum sort of has a captive audience and charges accordingly. While the movie was interesting, you can get through the rest of the museum in 15 minutes, tops, and see everything.

We popped in here, it's a nice small museum my 8 year old enjoyed it. Lots of art and different rock. The video upstairs kept them transfixed for 15mins as it was all about the 2010 volcano

Ok, like most, if you are fortunate enough to visit Stykkisholmur, you have found the neat local artisan shop next door to the more obvious (larger-RED) Volcano Museum. Don't wonder....just go in. This very educational and interesting collection of the world's most dramatic volcano eruptions...More

We arrived 45 mins before closing time and was worried that we would be rushed. It was quite pricey for what it offered so 2 of the family decided to not go in. In fact we were done within 30 mins.

Great museum with Vulcanism related art. The staff gives an explanation and a short tour and you can stay at least 1.5 - 2 hours in this great Museum.
