Gorgeous design inside and out. The beautiful architecture dominated the town’s skyline. Only wish I could have heard someone play the fabulous organ.

A church with a very distinctive architecture on top of a hill in Stykkisholmur. The interior is very sober like all other churches in Iceland but your attention is immediately drawn to the beautiful painting of a floating Madonna and Child behind the altar. Also...More

If you are visiting the village, have a walk and visit it. We were lucky to get there on a "sunny" sunset. Enjoy!

Picturesque little town with good photo ops of the Harbour and views from a headland that is easy to climb.

You can see the church for miles. It´s very simple inside with a big organ and a simple altar. Take a look, if you´re in the neighbourhood

So it's a church. It is not meant to be a tourist attraction. It is just a functional Lutheran church with a congregation. It's worth a look if you are in town, but unless you are deeply fascinated by architectural styles, it's not worth a...More
