Was in Vik area for two days, and wanted to access a gym. I was skeptical that I'd be able to find one, because the town only has about 300 residents, so the probability of there being a gym seemed quite improbable. There luckily was at the Vik Swimming Pool. The gym had a bench press, squat rack with plates, a leg curl and leg extension attached to bench press, a dumbell rack that goes up to about 60lbs, and a full cable machine. The room with the gym equipment is pretty small, but there's definitely adequate equipment to have a great workout, and stay on track. The day pass was also only about $7.20, which was really reasonable. Upstairs, the facility has a few cardio machines. The first day, there was only one other person using the gym. I had the gym to myself the second day. They have showers there as well.

We loved the Vik Swimming Pool because it was clean, reasonably priced and well located. It had a "hot pot", normal swimming pool and sauna. It was a perfect way to get cleaned up and warmed up after a big hike!

Now, we'd been to the Fontana Spa in Laugervatn last night, so we walked over from the Icelandair hotel and came in wary. But this place is a gem! There are 3 pools and a sauna (which I didn't do) -- a big 28 C pool with two slides for the kids, a 40 C hot tub, and a 35 C soaking tub. It was raining, snowing, and sleeting in shifts, and we had a wonderful time. :) It was clean and inexpensive, and although the locker areas were small, there was plenty of room. If you're in Vik and want to soak, don't miss this place!

My wife and stopped here today as part of our stay in Vik. After having spent the morning hiking up the Skogafoss and into the surrounding trail system, the Vik Swimming Pool/Community Center was a great way to cool down and unwind.
This is definitely a locals spot. There's a small gym with a squat rack and a decent amount of weights as well as a basketball/indoor football court with a gallery above with spin bikes, treadmills, ellipticals and a very new Concept 2 rower. While for sure not a powerlifting, crossfit or strongman gym you can still get a very decent training session here. The building is adjacent to a football field and outdoor track and has a very nice playground and outdoor football court.
The sauna, outdoor pool and hot tubs are clean, hot and have incredible views of the surrounding mountains as well as a restorative sea breeze.
We would definitely go back on a longer stay in Vik. If fitness is a priority, this should definitely be a stop, esp after a long hike.
With all the above said, this place shines for families with young childern. The pool has a water slide lol.

My husband and two boys (4 and 2) went to the pool after a morning of sight-seeing. They had a great waterslide that my 4 year old loved, and plenty of hot tubs to warm up in. Great place to chat with fellow tourists and swap stories too!

Very cold, wet and foggy and not enjoyable for sightseeing, so decided to visit the local swim pool. There were 3 with different temps all outdoors. Great for relaxing and warmed up nicely even in the pouring rain. Would definitely return in any weather!

The pool was basic but the entry fee was very cheap. We walked over from our hotel in the early afternoon, and the pool was not overly crowded. One of the hot tubs was covered but the other never had more then a few people in it. Even if you only spend 30 minutes in the pool you'll still get your money's worth. If traveling with kids there was a small waterslide.

It is simple and cheap and as other swimming pools around country it is great place for a quick break from the Icelandic chill and experience the everyday Icelandic culture.

This is a clean facility, in a great location. There is a pool, two hot tubs and a sauna. You can even see Reynisfjara from the pool!

After visiting the falls and black sand beach with a thousand other tourists, we wanted to rest from the crowds. This was just the ticket. The building is shared with the kindergarden and the temperature of the pool is dependent on if they need to heat the school. But, there is alway a nice hot pot and a cold plunge and a nice sauna. The cost of 900k pp was well worth it (less than 2 beers). We were the only ones there. Very peaceful. Even swam a lap in the cooler pool.
