Ribsafari - Boat Tours in Vestmannaeyjar offers fun and exciting entertainment in Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar). We operate both RIB Boats as well as a passenger boat. Sailing around the islands in a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) is an experience you won't forget. You can choose to go on a one hour tour or a two hour tour. We will visit the elephant rock, go into sea caves, see puffins and other sea birds and more. On the two hour tour there are more changes to see also whales and seals. We will stop in between and the guide will tell you stories. On the passenger boat we sail around the main island, Heimaey and you will get guidance along the way, see puffins, visit a sea cave, see the elephant rock and more. We will tell you about our nature, volcanic eruption, wildlife, history etc.

A breathtaking experience, I highly recommend!

This is such an amazing experience! We toured all over the Island stopping at the caves and outlying islands, while jiving to an amazing playlist of music with heart pumping as we flew over the waves. Breathtaking views and such a memorable experience. When we returned from our boat tour, we discovered our rental car had a flat tire and the amazing owner of the boating company took the time to change and repair our tired! Thank you Eythos for your kindness and caring! We would have been stranded without your help and thoughtfulness! This family is so kind.

Good value and very enjoyable.

Booked as a cruise excursion and thoroughly enjoyed it despite the rain. On a sunny day this would be even better! Our young guide was interesting, engaging, and informative. Despite a slight swell in places, the ride was very smooth and comfortable. We were welcomed by a friendly team who immediately provided just the right size of good quality waterproof overalls and helped us to don lifejackets. Goggles were also available. Outside for a safety briefing then on to the very modern rib. I don't want to spoil the surprise by saying what we saw but the trip was good value. I especially liked our guide's story about his grandparents' experience of the volcanic eruption. If I ever get the chance to return to Heimaey, I'll book the 2 hour trip.

I highly recommend this amazing and fun tour

Our guide was fun and knowledgeable and the captain was very competent and gregarious. We learned a lot about the island topography and coast and enjoyed and exciting ride near some of the cliffs. All interesting features were pointed out and during the tour we saw puffins and a close but safe encounter with a pod of Orcas that we'll never forget. Anyone going to the Westman Islands should do this tour.

We had a great time on this trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. We went into three different sea caves and saw the elephant rock. I also enjoyed talking with the staff about the 1973 eruption. I highly recommend this trip

RIB Safari One Hour: Had a Great Time!

We took the one hour RIB boat tour. It was absolutely beautiful and well worth the cost. I highly recommended this option and taking a visit to the island. The local guide did a great job. Tons of fun!

I had an hour trip today. Ab Fab but nowhere near long enough! Really wanted more. Great sights, excellent commentary and good driving. Also, the musical accompaniment was wonderful! I want the play list, and a stereo like that!

Fantastic trip

What a great trip!! Rosa was a wonderful, vibrant fountain of information of all things Westman Island. I can't pronounce the boat drivers name. He was great. One of the last days of a Viking cruise around the islands this was perfect. The music played on the boat was an exciting addition making the trip worth every cent. The only thing I would reccomend is that if you can book privately in advance you will save a lot of money from the Viking excurision and be back in plenty of time.

GET YOUR FERRY TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME

We booked through "Get to Iceland" and they did not advise us to get our ferry tickets ahead of time. When I looked into getting ferry tickets, they were sold out, and because it was within the 24-hour window, we were unable to get a refund. I contacted Get to Iceland and they said they'd reach out to Ribsafari, which they did not. I don't really blame Ribsafari, but I would prefer that they insist that their partners advise people to get ferry tickets ahead of time.

Dear SirefPod So sorry that you had this trouble. We do advice all our partners to state to their clients that they have to get themselves to the island by ferry - www.herjolfur.is - as our trips take place on the island and be in good contact with us if there are cancellation. Sorry that they did not let you know about this. It states on all our tickets that people need to book their trip via the ferry. A thrill-ride while exploring the Westman Islands!

The Ribsafari boat ride out of Heimaey Island, Iceland was a highlight of our Iceland experience. We had so much fun. We loved the speed, the sights , the music, the great stories/explanations, and jetting out of caves at full speed. We saw Elephant Rock, thousands of puffins (both in the air and by their dens on mountainsides), and the young volcanic island of Surtsey. I recommend this boat ride to anyone who loves fun, thrill, and amazing scenery.

MUST GO IF TRAVELING TO WESTMAN ISLANDS!

This was one of the highlights of my trip! Stunning views and a fun ride. The guide was very knowladgeable and the sailor was impressively skilled. I never once felt scared or in danger while there. We were on the one hour trip and plan on going to one of the longer trips when we come to Westman islands again 😀 soo much fun! Truly recommend if you have spare time, want to take pictures, or are an adreniline junkie or simply looking for something to do!
