It took less than 5 minutes to check out this replica of a Norwegian stave church. It's worth seeing but only because of the surrounding scenery.

We stayed on the island for one night and day, and loved this little place! The museum is interesting, you are given headphones can't remember the cost but did to break the bank. There are lockers if you need. it does not take long to...More

We went to this very interesting museum as part of a tour. It covers the history of the volcano on this island in 1973. Part of the museum is an excavation of homes that were covered during the volcano eruption.

Worth a visit because the museum is interesting, with interesting information about the birdlife around and on the island and puffins more specifically. The aquarium was a nice plus, but for me holding a real living puffin in my hands was a great feeling. I...More

The Aquarium and Natural History Museum in the town of Heimaey has an above-average collection of stuffed birds and around a dozen tanks of local fishes. Labels in English are included for most exhibits and the staff are very knowledgeable resources, too. The Museum also...More
