    Excellent value for the facilities
Due to unforeseen circumstances - bloody huge volcanic eruptions☹️, the Blue Lagoon was closed and thus the other Lagoons were quickly booked up. However, apart from any views, surroundings etc one would maybe question why pay all that money when there are facilities like this at a minimal cost. £7.50 each including locker - Olympic warm water outdoor swimming pool, other pools (including great kids slides etc), an indoor pool, varying hot tubs up to 44 deg C, a cold tub area (7 deg C 🥶), a large steam room, a saltwater heated spa pool and the list goes on. We had a great 2 hours even though it rained a couple of times - when you are wet you are wet and the water you are in is warm anyway!

    Outdoor swim
The laug is really good, clean changing rooms, lockers without charging, wristbands, 50m indoor and outdoor pool nice and warm and about 6 different hot tubs and a steam room. Kids area and a good slide. My favorite after visiting 3 laugs in Reykjavik

    good way to fill time
a fun way to spend our last day and eat up time before heading to the airport. not as pretty as the pictures. i love the different pool options, but it is a little run down and sand everywhere. the people are rude. don't expect to take any pictures here, you cannot take your phone in the pool.

    Large geothermal pool
Very large swimming pool with many hot tubs (10, 38, 40, 44°C), a hot tub with sea water, a hammam, a large pool, a paddling pool, a basketball cart, buoys and slides. Unfortunately, 2/3 were forbidden to use. Welcome back. Very clean. Good pool but not our favorite in Reykjavik.

    Swimming in iceland
With blue lagoon trip cancelled and other locations booked up/no car. This was a fantastic substitution, the outside pool was very quiet and there was a number of hot thermal water pools beside the main pool all of which were a different temperature (also a 4-8degrees pool or ice pool) as well as a steam room. It was -7 outside however it was great to relax and chill out after lots of walking, The location is fairly accessible to from the centre and although the facility has probably been there for a number of years it is still a greet facility. Highly recommended if visiting Iceland Very pleasant staff. Do what the locals do would be my tip.

We had a fantastic time in Reykjavic, the first day we spent in the city and visited the Hallgrimskirkja Church, the views from the Bell tower are breath-taking and I would recommend visiting. On the way back to the Ship we went into the Hard Rock Cafe for a drink and would found that interesting with excellent service.
On the second day we visited the Blue Lagoon and that was amazing, I can't speak highly enough of this experience and would advise anyone to try it if they get chance.
It's also a great place for cat lovers as they seem to be in lots of places and even do cat tours.
I would highly recommend a visit to Reykjavic.

Laugardalslaug is the heart of the city. It's where the locals go to relax and it's a wonderful facility.
Yes, the paint is flaking and yes, it doesn't look bright and shiny, but it has by far the best facilities in the city, and the prices are extremely reasonable.

It's essential that you follow the guidelines and shower properly before you go in. For people that prefer privacy there are individual cubicles available.

The best experience is had by alternating the hot tubs something like this: 42c, 5c, 42c, 5c, 44c, 5c, 43c salt. The 5c is amazing and well worth acclimatising to.

For those who are 'proper' swimmers, there are 50m outdoor and indoor pools and both are excellent. For families, the kids' areas and slides are great fun.

If you're looking for the full experience, after your visit turn right out of the door and walk 100m to the Pylsuvagninn (hot dog wagon) and have an Icelandic-style hot dog.

Gunner gave me the best massage I’ve ever had, truly took pride in his craft. The saunas and plunge pool in the spa were also top tier, and the outside pool was an experience in winter. Full recommend this place, especially if you ever get stuck in reykjavik during the winter because your tour has been cancelled!

We went to this pool on a Sunday evening. The goal was to share with the locals this Icelandic passion for bathing. Indeed there were people, too many for our taste! First of all, the shower in a large, almost clean changing room... Of course, like everywhere in Iceland, it's necessarily completely naked for reasons of hygiene and no place to isolate yourself. We're getting used to it well and all things considered it's better, we're sure that everyone is clean, which is not the case in France! But it is with the greatest simplicity and discretion. Then (with the swimsuit of course) we go to the pools in the rain... Only the hot pots are crowded and we can only stay there for a few minutes because of too much crowding. Too bad the water is 38°C! The large pool is great for doing laps of 50m. The other pool is ordinary and shallow for children. Everything seems a little dated. There may be other, nicer pools in Reykjavik. A positive point is that it’s free for seniors and young children! Despite everything we had a good time and the experience was interesting.

Essentially, the local leisure centre but they do it so well in Iceland! We went on a recommendation that this is how the locals do it. There is a 50m outdoor pool, 4x hot tubs (all different temperatures) outdoors and a salt water tub as well as Childrens pool… all heated by geothermal springs… go have a swim, sit and chat, watch the world go by!
Everyone has to shower naked before entering, but the set up is brilliant, locker keys are digital, no coins needed. There are storage places for towels and shoes… no need to carry things around or worry about someone taking them! Also shampoo/shower gel in the showers.

This large swimming complex is great for a swim or to relax in the hot pools (38-44 degrees) - there's a cold one too but I gave that a miss. Wonderful experience to be outdoors in minus air temperatures while lying in a geothermal pool. Went on a weekday afternoon in February and it was very quiet. Price is equivalent to about US$7-8 for unlimited time.

Great place to visit!
Traditional geothermal pools. Approx £6 for an adult. Locker keys are provided.
Leave your shoes outside the changing rooms or put in one of the plastic bags and take with you.
Towel racks are next to the showers so you're expected to take your towel with you but leave on the rack (people don't take their towels out to the pools).
Large swimming pool, decent sized kids pool, multiple hot tubs and varying temperatures and there's a steam room (but this isn't in the best condition!).
Nice place to relax.

After being forced to cut our trip short, from 5 days to 1, due to the pending travel ban, we (family of 5 with 3 teenagers) were fortunate to make a quick stop at Laugardalslaug on our way back to the airport. As others have mentioned, very local feeling, and we had the sense that we were the only tourists there. Mid-morning, it was not crowded at all, and the staff was very helpful in getting us set up with towels, instructions, etc. Spent time in the bigger pools, as well as the hot tubs (where more people seemed to congregate). While it's no Blue Lagoon, the cost for all of us was less than one BG entrance. So glad we stopped, as it made a nice end to an extremely truncated trip to Iceland.

Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the Blue Lagoon due to it being closed, so we needed to find an alternate place for some relaxation in the Reykjavik area.
We spent 2 hours at Laugardalslaug in the evening and enjoyed the different hot tubs and the atmosphere. It is a clean family friendly place with many different pools including an indoor pool, waterslide, gym, steam room. When we visited it, it was 2 degrees, but we were perfectly warm and the outdoor pool was warm enough for training.

The kids loved this pool - and we loved the hot pots. This was one of the highlights of our trip and I wish we had more pools like this in the States. We would be there every day! We also loved that the kids were encouraged to be independent and there was a noticeable lack of helicopter parenting. What a refreshing change from the parenting stress so typical in the US.
