This tour was the most fun we had on our whole Iceland trip! Set in a small distillery just outside the main centre of Reykjavík, the tasting is held in a nice room lined with aging whisky barrels. It was well setup to ensure appropriate social distancing. The host is the founder and owner of the distillery who is very entertaining and full of charisma. The tour focuses on the history of the distillery and tasting their range of gins and whiskys. They also take you through the distillery and explain the process. There is no shortage of drinks to try and you are welcome to secondies as well. It was a lot of fun and we all left very happy and tipsy!

Great place for a whisky lover. This is a relative new distillery with many novel products including a birchwood finish whisky. They have developed their whisky, called Floki, through their own research and development and have not copied Scottish distilleries. The oldest whisky has matured for 5 years now and appears very promising. The production area was not very impressive but it was interesting to visit a distillery that is mostly run and controlled by computers. Their production is very limited, so this Icelandic whisky will always be a rarity. The guide was very enthusiastic and we were offered a taste of all their products. They also produce very good gin and brennevin (spirit).

The Eimverk Distillery is located in the town of Garðabær a few minutes drive from downtown Reykjavík. Which makes this distillery a great hidden gem. We were greeted at the door by Palli, holding drinks for everyone. After a fun and informative talk, we got to walk around the distillery, tasting super strong liquors. This was followed by more tasting of Brennivín and other drinks and more fun. Highly recommend.

We were a very small group of total 7 people enjoying experience at this small family distillery hosted by one of the founders with unreal number of samples of all their products (11!! +2 extra welcome drinks upon arrival). It was informative, relaxed and really fun. Can only recommend wholeheartedly to all lovers of gin and whisky.

We booked this tour the same morning and we were so happy we could fit it in. We ended up taking the public bus to get there since people's reviews said you received a lot to drink. You definitely did! When we arrived another couple was already there. We were served a gin and tonic while we waited for everyone to arrive (it was delicious). Once the tour started we went through samples of all the different liquors. All were very good. Since it's a young company they don't have whiskey that's been aged too long, but it was still very good. Our tour guide was so interesting and knew a lot about what was going on. very interesting to see a distillery in Iceland since they operate a bit different than the US. Definitely a must stop!
