Booked a last minute trout fishing trip with Iceland Outfitters and it turned out to be an epic day. I snagged a spot on the Ion Beat for brown trout which I knew nothing about prior to contacting Iceland Outfitters. Information about the Ion Beat on the Internet was very encouraging as it can produce some of the largest wild trout in the world. It did not disappoint! My first true cast produced a nice 6 or 7 pound fish. Over the next hour I caught fish on nearly every cast including a 36" fish! The fishing didn't really slow down and I caught 10 or so fish in total. It could have been much higher but I got cold and took some breaks to rest.
Iceland Outfitters was very prompt to respond to my inquiry and very easy to work with. My guide (Matthias) was a very nice young man and a great fisherman.
I will be sure to book another trip with them on my next visit.

Just completed my 6th fishing trip with Iceland Outfitters - which in itself should confirm why I give a 5 Star rating.
Great guides - every one has been on the rivers since being kids so it's learning from locals that know every corner of their rivers - no "studied in a book" knowledge here!
Sverri is a fishing deity and have fished with him 2x now.
The owners are great (and Stefan a superb guide as well) and help with every booking enquiry ASAP and with clear recommnedations. Everything is very seamless.
Highly recommend and am a repeat offender with Iceland Outfitters!

This was a trip of a lifetime, the package was perfect and the guides, Seve and Matthias are unbelievable.
You think of huge fish in iconic scenery when Iceland is mentioned in fishing term but Icelandic outfitters make it real. A great holiday spent with good friends.

We had a great couple of days fishing on the Varma river for sea trout and then cod fishing. The weather was still a bit cool and windy in early April, but the fishing was great. Our guides were very helpful and took us straight to the best spots to fish. I hope to fish additional areas in Iceland in the future with this Outfitter.

You outfitters did a tremendous job with the high intensiv traveling to 4 different fishing opportunities, each with a very special character. I've fished all over the world and I've fished Iceland for a few years, with so called high profile provider, however I've never encountered such a well organised and professional outfitter like Iceland Outfitters.
This has been my best experience so far, professionally organised from pre-travel where I received an impeccable travel itinerary, pick up at airport and driving me not only to the Hotel in Reykjavik days before fishing started but also offering me a free ride to an interim lodge that had nothing to do with Iceland Outfitters before I even started fishing with them, I don't even had to ask for it. The fishing was amazing too, everything was taken care of.
Together with a friend and his family we fished West Ranga with Iceland Outfitters this year, same as last year with another provider and there was a huge difference in terms of organisation and execution.
In contrast to other providers one can really feel that Iceland Outfitters honestly care for their clients, not only did they provide a perfect guide for us fisherman, both the guide and the Iceland Outfitter's office also took good care of my friend's family when they were not fishing.
When they learned that I never managed to visit a hot spring in Iceland (shame on me) the manager and owner organised a visit at an amazing hot spring location before my flight in the early morning (of course they drove me to the airport, all included), what an amazing experience
And yes, this was/is an amazing year for fishing Icelad, I've never cought as many salmons as this time.
Iceland is really an amazing place and I recommend anyone to visit it. If you do, Iceland Outfitters is the perfect provider, no matter what your plans are, if you're fishing even better.
So see you again next year Iceland Outfitters!!

A great destination if you want to catch salmon in completely unspoilt countryside .The guides are friendly and really helpful with good knowledge of the rivers .The accommodation is perfect with terrific tasty meals . Cant wait to return

Excellent trip overall. Iceland Outfitters are superb organizers.This is the second time we have used them and were very pleased. each time. Dealing with Icelandic Outfitters we always feel like we are part of a big Icelandic family. Harpa , Stephan and Joanna make you feel like you are old friends and the guides are excellent , professional as well as congenial. Having done a considerable amount of fishing all over the world i can attest to the fact that congeniality isn't exactly a guides forte.

Highly recommend my guide and the area.I booked 2 days and we fished different area's each day ,the area and the rivers and creeks are very good waterways with plenty of fish.The guide not only is an expert on the fishing but also on the local area.The guide was SVERRIR RUNARSSON,through ICELAND OUTFITTERS

I'm considering a multi-river trip with Iceland Outfitters. Locations under consideration are: Minnivallalaekur (big browns), Tungulaekur (sea trout), Tungufljót (sea trout), Laxa River in Laxardalur (brown trout), Lake Thingvellir (ION beat?)(big browns). I'm hoping to go at a time when I can target big resident browns and sea trout. Sounds like either May, or in the fall. Does anyone know about sea trout and resident brown trout fishing at those times of year, at these locations, and fishing with Iceland Outfitters at these locations?

We are looking for an week long or so, fishing adventure in Iceland, I saw a trip advertised but without details. We are fly fisherman. One of us is ok to good, the other is expert. We have been to Iceland, stopping on a trip to Europe with our wives, and we did fish one day. We wish to return and get a far more in-depth fly fishing experience in your country. Please offer comments or suggestions.

good to hear from you. We have many guests from Colorado. I would love to plan a good fishing tour for you and your friend. There are several options I can offer you, salmon, trout, char, and seatrout fishing. The best would be to send you options of what I think might suit you. Every river has its own price and price is different depending on dates and then also different depending on what is included.
95% of our tours are all-inclusive tours, where we pick you up when you land in Iceland, arrange for all fishing, accommodation, guiding, etc. before saying goodbye to you at the airport when you depart. I would love to plan a good fishing tour for you. We have day tours and of course longer tours. Most of the anglers who travel to Iceland for fishing are fishing for 3 - 6 days, but of course, they can fish as long as they like.
We have 100 salmon rivers in Iceland and even more trout and char rivers.
Then we also have a boat where we can take you sea angling. It would be great to talk through email so I can send you an offer that I think will suit you. For me it is good to know:
