My boyfriend and I joint the private waterfall ice climbing tour and it's just amazing! This is our first time ice climbing. Our super friendly+professional local mountain guide Robert share us the technique in detail 🏔️🪓. We spent an incredible day on the mountain and reached a 75 metre waterfall. Feeling so small in the face of nature and yet so much joy to be a part of it. I will definitely come again and recommend this incredible tour to any adventurers 👊👊👊

So happy to hear you enjoyed your ice climbing tour with Robert!
He surely is a climbing wizard. And he loves to spread the joy.
Nature does make you feel small, doesn´t it?
We should visit it as often as possible.
Thank you for you kind words and thanks for sharing.
Hope you had a wonderful Iceland stay.
Kind regards: Ásdís, Asgard

Did a glacier walk recently with this company and they were absolutely amazing. It was part of a school trip and the kids absolutely loved it! Our guide Sigurpáll was so good with the kids, really knowledgeable and made our experience even better!

Happy to hear you enjoyed your time with us an Sólheimajökull glacier.
It really is a sight to remember.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with future travellers.
We highly appreciate it.

The 'Ice Climbing and Glacier Hiking' day tour with Asgard Beyond was definitely the highlight of my trip to Iceland!
I got picked up from my Reykjavik hotel and off we went to the South of Iceland to take on Sólheimajökull glacier.
We got all kitted out with a harness, crampons and helmet, went over safety features before we set foot on the glacier. Our brilliant! guide Gulli was extremely knowledgeable and made us all feel very safe.
Let me tell you walking on a glacier is quite strenuous, but those crampons certainly do their job!
Reaching the top, it was wonderful to see the raw and unspoilt beauty of Iceland and you really do get to appreciate what is around you.
At the end of our hike, we came across an ice cave at the top of the glacier covered with black volcano ash. Inside, it was a crystalline universe waiting to be discovered.
Seeing the ice cave and Sólheimajökull glacier, these mesmerising natural wonders in person, was an unforgettable day. Thumbs up to Asgard Beyond for this INCREDIBLE bucket list experience!
The hike itself lasted around three hours, but it was a full day tour. The journey to Sólheimajökull from Reykjavik took approximately 2.5 hours each way.
We took a quick scenic stop at the magnificent Skógafoss waterfall, before we returned to Reykjavik.
Asgard Beyond is your expert for a knowledgable, safe and incredibly memorable hiking experience. They tailor-make trips for small groups aiming to make your dream day tour come true in the Icelandic wilderness. They provide all equipment and hiking boots for you.
Cannot recommend highly enough!

Thank you so much for the feedback on your Ice climbing tour with Asgard. Our tours are always operated in such a manner that all guests enjoy every aspect of it, that is the main reason why our groups are always so small, which allows us to pickup all our guests at their hotels, but not bus-stops around the City.
Gulli sure is a gem, and a fantastic guide that we are extremely fortunate to have. Its great to hear that Gulli managed to show you the Ice cave on the glacier, we are always so grateful when we have caves forming on the ice, and it sounds like your group enjoyed all of the attractions.
Providing all the gear (free of charge) is indeed of great value, both for comfort and safety which is always our focus on all Asgard tours.
If you ever find yourself in Iceland again, you know where to find us.
We do appreciate your time spent with us. Thank you.
Sincerely
Ragnar

This was one of the experiences at the top of my list. The view of and on the glacier was breathtaking! Our tour guide ‘Bright’ was super lovely and informative and very passionate for his role. A lot of hiking until we got to climb up and down an ice wall, which was an unforgettable experience. One of the best tours during my time in Iceland.

I'm glowing after this trip! Our guide Kiddi collected us in Reykjavík then our day began. We were kitted out with really good boots and weather gear and crampons (first time I ever wore them but he taught me so well i felt so comfortable)
When we arrived at the glacier I almost cried because it was so breathtaking! There was some bits that were a bit hairy because I am scared of heights but our guide was always so kind and calm and I felt totally safe the entire time. He told us stories and facts and was so knowledgeable.
We had harnesses and everything and so did some ice climbing, which was amazing. Kiddi chose a place I could challenge myself but still feel safe but there was much taller ones if you were already at a higher level and felt comfortable doing it. All in all we had a mind blowing day and this trip would be worth coming to Iceland for by itself. There was only 3 of us with the one guide so we were so well attended on, we saw another company with heaps of people, I real feel this trip was worth every krona. Thankyou so so much! Xx

Wow!
Thank you so much for your amazing feedback and all the kind words. Since you were lucky enough to go out and explore with Kiddi, I´m not surprised you had a fantastic day out. How lucky are we to have him on our team of Asgardians??? Everything you mention makes us very proud, but the fact that you say this trip would be worth coming to Iceland for, really blows our mind. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to share your Asgard experience with others. We really appreciate it. If you ever find yourself in Iceland again (which we hope) or if you have friends coming over, you know where to find us...Safe travels.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day . Ragnar our guide was lovely and it was also very reassuring to know he was part of the mountain rescue team. He gave us a great insight in the glacier explaining its movement, crevasses, holes, rock formation in the in shaped valley so we felt we got a good understanding of the glacier . He took us on a beautiful big loop on the glacier and was interesting , courteous and highly competent . When I snagged my Crampon’s and fell with a hard bang on the ice , he helped me stay calm and helped me down the steep bits . Highly recommend the day hike - we had about a 4 hour hike and it was one of the most special memories in my life 👍

Dear Geraldine!
Wow, you blow our mind with your kind review. Thank you soooo much. We are extremely grateful for our amazing guides, who never fail to deliver outstanding experiences out there. Ragnar surely is one of them, and we appreciate how lucky we are to have him within our realms. It is important for us to educate our guests about the amazing Icelandic nature and our precious glaciers. Nature is what makes what we do possible and we care deeply for mother earth. It´s our passion to intoruduce the magic to Iceland guests, and when we learn that others, like you. are touched by the beauty, we feel like we have accomplished our goal. And that´s what drives us to continue doing what we do. We highly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with future travellers. Again, thank you!!!!
Kind regards: Ásdís, Asgard

We had a fantastic day with our guide from Asgard Travel. While weather prevented us from doing a glacier hike/ice climb as planned, we toured the South Coast with a great guide who was extremely knowledgeable, resourceful and helpful. He worked at the perfect pace for us. This day was one of our favorites in Iceland.

Hey! Thanks so much for your kind words.
We are so happy you decided to come on the tour with us, despite the fact that we had to cancel the glacier hike due to safety reasons. Sometimes the weather plays tricks on us, even in the summertime. The South Coast is an extremely beautiful place in good weather and bad weather alike. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your day out with your family and one of our highly qualified guides. And learning that this was one of your favorite days in Iceland makes us very proud. Thanks again for sharing your Asgard experience with future travelers, and please, if you ever find yourselves in Iceland again, don´t hesitate to stay in touch...

One of the most amazing experiences. We booked (daughter and mum) a trip with no climbing!
We choose the private tour which included 4 young guys from America looking for adventure who were firstly disappointed by not doing climbing and having a very middle aged person keeping them back
BUT Ali our guide was truely amazing, he was patient, informative but most important he was reassuring and confident. We were able to take out time on climb up, whilst he kept the guys entertained with stories and photo opportunities
I would have to recommend this trip for everyone, I coped with asthma. And was not made to feel isolated or even a hinderance. The views were out if this world. Ali our guide was slightly less confirmative and we travelled paths not previously travelled much to the delight of our American friends
Ali was simply *5 star. Thank you for I never thought I could or would ever do something like this. I DID

Wow! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with others.
We are so happy to hear that at the end of the day, you felt like you had accomplished something and felt good about your self. Please, don´t underestimate yourself though. It´s normal to feel insecure when you find yourself in totally unusual environment, like on hard ice surface, on a GLACIER:-)
We are even more happy to hear that you liked the beauty of Sólheimajökull glacier, and enjoyed the company of your fellow travelers and your guide. Alli is a great guide, as all of our guides are, we know they are our greatest asset.
Thank you for choosing Asgard as your adventure provider in Iceland, and thanks so much for your kind words...

How delightful that you felt you were on a tour with a small company, because that is exactly what we are, and plan to be...So stoked to hear it shone through on your Northern Lights and Glacier Tour.
Hope you had a safe trip back home and hope to see you again in Iceland one day.

This was one of our favourite experiences on our trip.
We'd purposefully booked with Asgard for the smaller group size (and we were fortunate that it was only us two in the end) and for the longer time on the ice. It was most definitely the right decision! The waterfall afterwards is a nice little addition too.
Our guide, Kiddi, was fantastic. I can't praise him enough. Calm, unflappable and knowledgeable. I always felt safe with him, and he dealt with my nervousness at abseiling with such patience. Encouraging, but without ever forcing me to do something I wasn't comfortable with. Good briefing before trying ice climbing and helpful tips to improve. He had a good knowledge of the glacier too, and the smaller group meant we could get off the beaten track and were often walking in untouched snow. Such breathtaking views!

Thank you soooo much Nicola, for your kind words!
Believe me, they´re especially valuable now, if you know what I mean.
I really love the fact that you picked Asgard as your adventure provider, due to the smaller group size. We whole heartedly believe that´s the way to experience new places and activities. With few people and a fantastic guide.
Happy to hear you met Kiddi, he´s a star. We are extremely lucky to have him on our team. It´s an art, to go off the beaten track without leaving a trace.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share your Asgard experience. Be safe, and if you ever find yourselves in Iceland again, you know where to find us:-)
