After Iceland announced they would be reopening to vaccinated travelers, I knew that I needed to make the trip over. Instead of waiting around and trying to plan, research and book everything for myself like I usually do, I decided to use Guide to Iceland.

I booked the Scenic 7-Day Self Drive around Ring Road through them and had the absolute best time. I did this trip solo, so knowing that I had an agent and company to speak to if anything arose felt comforting.

Before I left, a couple of my tours cancelled due to starting their season later due to Covid, but Guide to Iceland had me rebooked on new tours within the same day with other operators. The one that couldn’t be rescheduled just due to timing of other tours was refunded immediately!

I opted for the 2WD budget automatic and that was sufficient for driving in the summer time and I had no issues! Blue Car Rental was extremely helpful and when I didn’t receive my GPS/WiFi as promised, they allowed me to keep the car for two extra days (I had extended to wait for my outbound Covid results) and Guide to Iceland refunded me the difference immediately.

I opted for the quality hotels and they did not disappoint. The only one I was not as excited about was the Icelandic Hotel Herad in the east, as the other advertised at booking looked way nicer BUT during this season some hotels are delaying their openings for guests, so that is no fault of Guide to Iceland. My favorite had to be the Hofsstradir Farm House up north.

I opted for a tour every day to really experience some of the most unique things Iceland has to offer. Most of my tours were through Tröll Expeditions who from start to finish had amazing guides. One even took me solo to the Katla ice cave and I felt like I was a VIP having the opportunity to be there without crowds of people.

The itinerary that was sent over with recommendations on where to stop was so helpful as it really helped me in planning out my drives and stops along the way. I will say that I do wish there were more recommendations if things to visit in the cities you stay in but I made due with Google Maps and reviews! The trip definitely slowed down on the stops up north and the ride back down to Reykjavik but it was nice as the first couple days I had been non-stop.

I think my only suggestion would maybe include pictures in the itinerary so users don’t need to Google each one to see what it is!

I truly had the best time and Berenika, my travel advisor, was so helpful and was so good at easing my anxieties which obviously were at an all time high traveling during a pandemic. I would go back to Iceland in seconds and honestly never wanted to leave! Thank you all for the trip of a lifetime and I can’t wait to come back and explore more :)

We have just returned from an excellent 3 day break where we saw the best of this absolutely amazing country. We visited the Blue Lagoon, the Golden Circle (with Snowmobiles) and did a South coast adventure. All our trips, hotel and transfers were arranged by G2I and they all fitted together perfectly. We stayed at the Fosshotel Baron hotel which was very comfortable and centrally located.

Big shout out to Anna Fackiewicz from G2I, who saved the day for us when our original flight from the UK was cancelled by EasyJet due to bad weather in Iceland (which can happen in Winter). We had less than 24 hrs notice of our flight cancellation, and the next flight we could get was 2 days later which meant we had to both delay and shorten our trip (by one night).

Having already fully paid for our trip with G2I, I was hugely impressed how Anna was always available to help us and in no time at all had rearranged our entire itinerary to fit in with our new flights. She was also able to obtain a partial refund for us, as our rescheduled trip was slightly shorter than previously.

G2I are essentially an agent who book with the various excursion companies. We hadn’t used or heard of them before, but were impressed by the variety of tours on their website and the various reviews. We are really glad we went with them given the rapid access to a single contact point (by phone or email via their portal) who could then take care of everything locally.

If you are considering a trip to Iceland, I would not hesitate using Guide to Iceland and will always be grateful to Anna for helping us get things back on track.

Guide to Iceland is a fuss free agency who helps you to create itinerary and book transport as well as day tours from many different operators. The agent from Guide to Iceland, Kristina, was prompt with her replies and accommodated our request to rearrange some items in our travel plan. However, we visited Iceland in late December and the daylight hours were very short which caused us to have to visit some of the locations before the day was bright enough to see. So do take note if you are intending to visit in winter. Overall, I will recommend Guide to Iceland for anyone who wishes to have a fuss free travel planned for you.

The actual trip and the tour guides from various tour operators were absolutely phenomenal, but the trip planning done by Guide to Iceland was insanely terrible. It took about 3 weeks to drum up the trip itinerary and I didn’t get the final version until 3 days before I got on the plane to Iceland, and worst part was the itinerary wasn’t even accurate. During the 3 weeks of booking process, the agent from Guide to Iceland missed half of my airport transfers; booked completely wrong times for the airport transfers she booked; failed to book hotels every night during my stay, cancelled and rebooked hotels several times and failed to update the tour operators to pick up from the final hotel. It was a complete nightmare receiving different itins with varied mistakes daily, and have to coordinate phone calls across 8hr time zone. I wrote specifically what would be a good time to call both in my time zone and in Icelandic timezone, yet the agent would call me at 4am my timezone which was definitely not in my specified time slots. I expressed deep disappointment when I finally received the final booking confirmation and asked please please make sure to update the pick up location to the final hotel you booked me into. Upon arriving in Iceland, I called up each tour operator just to double confirm and literally not a single one of them had received my new hotel information. Lastly I was booked in for the 6 Day Ring Road Road Trip, where I have selected to snorkel at Silfra. The Agent did not book snorkelling for me during the road trip, yet she booked it a day after I returned from the road trip. Not only I had nothing to do while the rest of the group went snorkelling, it was also a waste of time to go back to the same place a week later just to do the snorkelling. Overall this was an epic fail of travel planning, and it created nothing but stress for me. I highly recommend booking directly from the tour operators, so no one has to pay to have this horrific travel booking experience as me.

Guide to Iceland took all of the stress out of planning our trip over the Christmas holiday. They arranged everything for us and the accommodations were great (we chose the premiere package). MyCar rental was excellent and Glacier Mice (the tour guides for the Ice Cave Tour) made the trip very worthwhile. We were surprised by the amount of absolutely packed buses pretty much everywhere we went. But that was certainly not anything in the control of Guide to Iceland. My wife enjoyed the self-driving tour since we could make our own schedule. Would recommend doing this again to anyone who wants to make trip planning easy and wants to have a good experience while there.

I booked the tour for 2 person paying a total of about 2550 Euros. Guide to iceland was quick to respond and help with all my questions prior to my trip began. However, they were unresponsive or too slow to get back to me whenever I called them for help. During the trip, our personal travel advisor was never available to connect over a call to help. I was dropped off over 500 mts away from my hotel (with all my heavy luggage in hand) while it was snowing heavily. I shared this terrible day 1 experience with Guide To Iceland but the guy on the call wanted me to repeat my misery over an email to them. And they never came back to me on it. Similary, our northern lights tour got cancelled for 3 straight nights while other tour operators were going out. I had to spend a lot of time trying to talk directly to the northern lights operator to figure out why they were not going while everyone else was. And then I had to co-ordinate this with Guide to Iceland. This was the job of Guide to Iceland to ensure my trip was smooth, but I was the one who had to do their job.
Overall, the tour was good but not because of Guide To Iceland; rather because the other tour operators were good with whatever they controlled.
I would not recommend paying the premium prices charged by Guide To Iceland knowing that there are cheaper and better companies out there.

This is my first time went to Iceland last month in March 2022. Me and my friend were looking for a whole 5 days package tour & found that Guide to Iceland is very efficient and flexible. They can tailored your itinerary according to your date of travel which is very convenient for me. Usually other tour operators they have specific date and time which sometime not match with your own schedule. They are very professional, quick response in emails, complete and clear itinerary (where to go, directions for bus tour pick up, time, activity, contact person, etc). They also gave us refund when one of the tour was cancelled due to bad weather. Me and my friend had a full 5 days fun in Iceland without any issue at all. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Guide to Iceland, you're the best!

This travel company has the experience and connections to make travel to Iceland magical. The accommodations they selected and the route for our travel were spot on. We chose to book the most expensive choice of accommodations and included meals which turned out not only to be a bargain but gave us the opportunity to eat at some of the best restaurants in Reykjavik. Also the restaurants at the hotels we stayed at were wonderful. We chose to get a high end car, a Toyota SUV which gave us a lot of room and stability on some of the gravel roads. We also got the premium insurance which covered damage from gravel etc. We did not use the gps and wifi hot spot included but opted to go with our Verizon plan which gave us internet, Apple maps and wifi calling at $10/day, a bargain for the convenience it provided in Iceland's isolated areas. It rained the first few days but then the sun opened up for our trip along the south coast and the scenery was spectacular. The only glitches occured in our communication with the travel agency which was sometimes unresponsive needing a nudge to respond to requests and made a few changes to our itinerary without consulting us. Others have also commented on the communication problem. Also in a few hotels they could not find our bookings for dinner until we showed them our vouchers. So it is important to bring them along. It was strange that this happened at three hotels where we stayed. Also I called the agency to inquire about a tour and they said they would look into it but never heard back from them. I would use them again but not hesitate to call when needed instead of relying solely on email to communicate. So perhaps this was on me.

Thanks to guide to iceland and our guide Anna, our trip was great even if the sun was really shy ! She had a very good idea to accomodate for us one extra night in eastfjords : we have spend two nights and one day in a fantastic guesthouse under the storm, all the country was on a red alert for blowing snow and wind.

Reykjavik is an amazing city, so rock ! Get see the punk museum of reykjavik, the street art, lot of amazing bar for take a drink !

The South is very touristic ! If you arrive to take a photo and sightsseeing without, it's very beautiful ! We xas disappointed by the ice cave tour proposed by the guidecompany, we would like have more time in the ice cave and walk in. I know it doesn't depend on guide to iceland, but the price is a little bit overvalue for just take pictures and spend twenty minutes in. If I had to choose again I think I'll get a walk on a glacier.

And the better for us was : Myvatn and his area ! This place still in our travel hearts for quiet and empty space !

Have a good trip !

Iceland has been on my bucket list since forever. It didn't just meet my expectations, it exceeded them. Absolutely stunning place.

The only downside to the whole tour were the gas stations. There should be a warning for foreign travellers NOT to use their debit cards on certain gas stations. Both gas stations that were recommended by our tour guide (ÓB and Olis) as well as Orkan station, charged the maximum possible amount from our debit cards (approx 150€) regardless of the amount of fuel we have actually chosen to purchase. The money refund is incredibly slow and tedious and it's gonna take at least a month to get it back, which was our case.
The only gas station that worked perfectly well with any debit or credit card was N1 so I would recommend future travelers to stick to that one.

Other than this mishap, it was absolutely wonderful experience!
