Just a lake with nice views and surrounded by impressive buildings with some birdlife . Central and City Hall (with Tourist Information Office) make it convenient

If you want to just casually walk around, this might be your spot. But I went here as one of the last places I saw before my flight back.

Lake Tjornin is right in front of city hall and really helps to accentuate the building and surrounding part of the city. It is nothing too spectacular by Iceland standards, but really adds natural balance to the city walk.

Nothing special to see there in daylight, but it may be cool to experience it at night. The view is not spectacular in any way.

Take a walk around this little lake, there are a lot of birds to see and you will have a nice view on the city.

Good place to see. Loved to go there with my friends and colleages. Good place to see in the town. Near other main touristic attractions. You can access it because you have good public transportation nearby.

A great place to sit and people watch or feed the ducks. If you are putting together a list of sights to see in the Capital be sure to include this one. You'll enjoy it!

I love this pond. It's so nice having it in the city, and all the birds too. It adds life to the city and really changes its image.

It was nice to find this pleasant small lake (or big pond) at the edge of the old city. We walked around it partially, visited the tourist information building on one end of a pedestrian bridge. Took photos of the colorful houses on one side...More

If it’s on the ice a nice easy walk in 20-30mins. If it’s off the lake on the road 30mins.

Hi, the lake was still frozen when we visited last week. People were walking on it but I didn't see anyone ice skating.
