I always buy the greatest dresses and outerwear at this store. Never fail to get compliments when I wear my purchases. This year was no exception.
The store has moved off the main shopping street to an area closer to the Hilton Nordica. I took a taxi out but walked back to Hotel Borg in about 20 minutes. Even saw a rainbow on the way back.

There were only two places on our trip that got a second visit and Systur & Makar was one of them. Really unique items -- clothing, jewelry and small items (special spoons, christmas ornaments that are different, etc). My hubby let me linger and shop in part due to the little couch in the back and BOTH visits he was offered coffee :) -- a nice little treat when a man is stuck shopping with his wife! Really enjoyed everything about this store AND we got the BEST recommendations for food there too :)

I bought two dresses and three tops from Systur & Makar. They are so unique and comfortable. I wore a top home and was complimented while traveling. The owners/designers are friendly and helpful. I also bought a necklace that said "Create your own happiness" in Icelandic script. It is my new mantra! Do stop in if you're on Laugavegur.

As a local I frequently visit to buy cute and original presents, such as very affordable but stylish jewellery. Love visiting every time!

So glad I popped into this charming boutique. I was enamoured by all of the unique items and stories of iceland that accompanied many of them.
I brought home with me the "black cat"
Christmas charm.
"Thank you" to the owners who took the time to share many icelandic folk tales and for the excellent dinner recommendation to snaps!

This is very small and I almost did not go in, but the window displays were so pretty I stopped anyway. Beautiful variety of jewelry and misc. items. They make a really great jacket/cape of their own that is so unusual and beautiful. The people working there were helpful and they had many things they make themselves. Definitely worth the trip and it's right on the street where a lot of the shops are.
