For years I’ve had Happy World bookmarked as the “must do” tour for my Iceland trip and it certainly did not disappoint!! We booked the tour for our first night in Iceland so that we could re-book in case of a non-sighting. Unfortunately the weather meant the tour was cancelled twice but on the third try it was a go! We had to drive back to Reykjavík from Selfoss to meet up with the tour but Robert was able to suggest a pick up point on the edge of the city so we didn’t have to drive quite as far. We were met by Þröstur and how lucky we were to have such a fun, enthusiastic and knowledgable guide!! Even though it was a cloudy night and seeing the lights seemed like a slim possibility, Þröstur kept all our hopes high and made the hunt for the lights that much more exciting! We stopped to look for the lights and then they appeared before becoming stronger and dancing in between the clouds. Lots of photos were taken and constellations were pointed out for the times that we were waiting for the lights. The most amazing hot chocolate I’ve ever had was served up to enjoy while watching the northern lights and to warm up! On the way back to Reykjavík Þröstur told us ghost stories all while keeping an eye out for the lights. And very efficiently, the photos taken that night were uploaded to google drive just an hour after we were dropped off! If you want to go hunting for the northern lights, this is the one for you!!!

INCREDIBLE SERVICE STAFF. We had paragliding booked and learned an hour beforehand it had been canceled due to a covid case. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate an alternative. 3 staff came in to work within a half hours notice to give us an experience of a lifetime. The alternative they gave us was with the ultralight passenger flight. This was a wonderful experience and the staff was truly the kindest to make up for the paragliding closing.

Despite it raining every day prior, we lucked out and the sky cleared up the night of our tour. We were picked up from our hotel on time and had a very pleasant drive outside of the city to our viewing location. During the drive, our guide, Throstur told us some very enjoyable stories. Not long after getting to our location, the northern lights made an appearance and we got some great pictures. Throstur even helped me get my own camera set up for pictures. After viewing the northern lights, he set up a telescope and spoke in great detail about the stars in the night sky. The hot chocolate and pastries were a nice bonus. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we can’t say enough about our guide. His personality was so much fun and we won’t soon forget the evening.

🌌🥇PHENOMENAL experience 🥇Þröstur was amazing : professional, excellent communication, extremely knowledgeable, and warm transportation !
☕️Hot cocoa was delicious and we stargazed together thru an extraordinary telescope 🔭 .
Pick up was on time , took us to 3 diff AWESOME Locations and patiently took photos for us . it was MAGICAL. 🌠 memories for a lifetime…

Wow, what an amazing experience we had on Valentines night with great people and our Amazing host Pröstur.
We were unlucky the night before & didn’t see a thing due to the poor weather but Robert at Happyworld managed to rebook us for the following night and what a night.
We had only ten in our party and our brilliant guide for the evening Pröstur,
He knew the best place to take us and was very funny and knowledgable the whole evening.
We had to see out a blizzard first while drinking hot chocolate and eating cake supplied by Pröstur but shortly after midnight with Pröstur jumping for joy and shouting here we go, the clouds parted and the lights began to shine😁, we had over an hour with the lights in full glow and multiple photos being taken by our host while watching this extraordinary event.
Thank you soooooo much for a brilliant evening and amazing experience all at Happyworld but especially Pröstur, one we will never forget.
You and your colleagues were brilliant at looking after us and fitting us in for the second evening, we really appreciated it.
My family will never forget this, so I cannot thank you enough👏🏻😁.
We will definitely be back to see you again!

It was really an amazing and glorious night chasing the magnificent Aurora Borealis with HappyWorld, especial thanks to our master guide of the stars Auslo who had been so pretty awesome with bunch of astrological knowledge not to mention the unique lactose free hot choco that adds up to our perfect experience. Also would like to commend Robert who had been so responsive and accommodating to all our queries with the tour. Indeed it’s all worth it and highly recommended.

Can’t recommend this company enough. We had the most amazing experience seeing the Northern lights with Ástþór and Ómar. Ástþór Collected us from our hotel in the huge truck and we met up with Ómars truck before then going off in search of the lights. There’s no parking up at one location and waiting for the lights, you go hunting for them. We went off road then got out of the truck and went trekking in the amazing snow until we found the perfect spot. Both guides were brilliant. Friendly, happy and knowledgable about everything in the skies. So funny too! We got to see the northern nights and what an amazing experience it was!!! Will never forget it. Was the best experience ever and the best tour company to take you out to find the lights. Highly highly recommend Happyworld!! Wrap up warm!!

After 4 tries, the 5th night was a go and it was wonderful. Saw the lights.. maybe not the "Disney" version, but a great view, beautiful stars, shooting stars and great and energetic leadership by Finn and Throstur. The photos they took were spectacular and we will treasure the experience forever.

We saw the Northern Lights!
Really informative evening with fascinating guides. The skies were slightly cloudy so we didn't get to use the telescope which was a shame but we saw the Northern Lights!
Super yum hot chocolate which was really welcome - it was VERY cold. When they say 'wear layers' they really mean it - dress up warm and make the most of being outside in this magical country.
Highly recommended...

We had such a great time and the memories will last. Driving into the middle of nowhere to look at the stars and catch a glimpse of the northern lights was very special. Our guide kept us amused with stories and information on. The stars and northern lights. With a telescope to see closer the stars came to life.they even brought a chair for my husband to use as he can’t stand for any length of time. Very kind people. With the added bonus of a very welcome hot chocolate and cake it was a very special evening. Thank you for a memorable evening.

Hi Molly :-) If Northern Lights are a priority for you, February over August is a no-brainer. Most Northern Lights tours operate 1. September - 15. April. This is due to daylight hours in Iceland. Northern Lights need darkness to be visible. It is possible to see them close to beginning and after end of season, but the window of opportunity is short (short nights) and there are no tours running.

Hello Legosmommy and thank you for your message :-) I'm sorry but we don't take children under 12 on our tour as it's just not suitable for young children. If you're interested in booking a private tour which allows young children and a more flexible agenda to accommodate your family, please contact us directly :-)

Now, that's a fun question! :-) If you arrive in summer there is no reason to sleep really as we have 24 hour daylight! If you arrive in winter you get no sleep either as we'd send you Northern Lights hunting through the night!
But really, there are endless amazing options for sightseeing, action, adventure, activites, food, fun, nature, culture, music, design, romance, bromance, soloance (is that a word?) ... the possibilities are countless! What we like to do is get to know you a bit before helping you plan the perfect holiday. If you want our best advice please contact us by e-mail and we'll sort you out :-)

Hi Gaynor, thank you for your question and sorry for the late reply, the alerts don't usually reach us until quite a bit later. So, our Northern Lights tours are 21.900 ISK per person. We have maximum 7 passengers with one driver/guide in a modified Land Rover Defender, and maximum 2 vehicles touring together. Lots more info and booking options on our website happyworld.is
