Reykjavik food walk guide Minty was engaging, entertaining and funny. We had several guides in Iceland and he was by far the best. He was able to tell us about folklore and the history of Iceland with comedic timing. The food was pretty good too.

What a great Food Tour! Being in the industry I have gone on many, many food tours and the one Wake Up Reykjavik set up for me was over the moon. I was on a girls week in Iceland and the 3 of us headed off for the adventure with our knowledgable guide. We went to classic spots, trendy bars, old haunts and the hot dog kiosk. Wide and varried from delicate appetizers to "cured" shark. When I took a birte of Plokkfiskur and our guide said "This is what my granny makes for me when I visit her" I know I would be looking up that recipe! Even better was being squired around town in a group of 3 plus the guide! We could get in, get out hear the history, hear his stories and his relationship with the food and the restaurants. What a grand evening!

Elizabeth gave us a brilliant tour! While the food was delicious and we got a really good sense of traditional Icelandic cuisine (and lots of it too!), Elizabeth was an added delight. She layered in social and historical context around every dish, answered all of our questions, and gave us great insider tips for finding the best of what Reykjavik has to offer. This is a perfect first-day activity!

Fantastic evening spent with our brilliant & knowledgable tour guide Esther. We learnt so much about the food & it’s history. To top it off the food & venues visited were amazing. Can’t recommend enough!
