We went on the food tour with our very nice and funny tour guide Eygló. It was fun and exciting to try some of the traditional Icelandic dishes and get a walk around Reykjavik.

Our tour guide, Karen (her Anglicized name) was informative, enthusiastic, and filled with local knowledge. We were treated to local specialties in appropriate portions that gave us a great introduction to Icelandic fare. He were able to sample lamb done a couple of different ways as well as seafood and deserts. Highly recommended - especially towards the beginning of a trip to Reykjavík.

We did an excellent food tour with Karen. Three hours, five different places to eat, varying between exotic starters to lamb hotdogs to rye bread ice cream. She was informative, relaxed and funny. I would recommend.

This was the first thing we did when we arrived to Iceland and it was an absolutely wonderful way tot start our vacation. The food was amazing, our tour guide Thor was incredible, both friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Whatever questions we asked he was able to answer and made sure to make our tour memorable. Highly recommend!

My husband & I went to Iceland in February 2020 and we did 3 tours with Wake Up Reykavik. Food Tour - Saturday It was great to get us out of our hotel after our early morning flight. We had Thor as a guide and he was amazing, very professional & knew all about the cuisine. Beer Tour - Thursday After a 5 day driving around the South Ring Road we came back to Reykjavik and since the Northern Lights weren't going to happen we did a last minute booking of the Beer Tour that was happening that night. We booked only a few hours before the tour & we ever asked for the tour to start an hour later and they were super accommodating. Our tour guide was Anna - and we were joined by another guide (doing tour for 1st time) and 2 others. A small group of 5 and it was OUR BEST NIGHT IN REYKJAVIK. Anna have ALOT of background/history of beer and it was a great time. We felt we made friends with everyone on the tour, including Anna. Bar Crawl - Fridat The last night we decided to do the Bar Crawl Friday night - since we had such a great time on the Beer Tour. Hera was AMAZING - such a fun time & it was a real glimpse into authentic Icelandic nightlife. In the end: Of course doing all 3 was a little much - and they are pricey tours; but we knew Reykjavik was on the higher of pricing anyway. There was 1 resto/bar that was a stop on all 3 tours, so that was a little bit repetitive. If I were to do it over again, I would do the Food & Beer tour - that would set you up for a good foundation of the whole city. Skál !
