Overview
Go off the beaten path and far from the typical places visited by most tours on this geopark adventure from Reykjavik. Traveling in a small group of no more than six people in an all-terrain SUV means that you can go places inaccessible to most cars and buses. Drive through lunar lava fields, by a black lake, and to one of Iceland's most colorful geothermal sites, Krysuvik. Finish your day with a thrilling lava tube exploration in Leidarendi Cave.

A wonderfully informative and fascinating insight into the local geology. The highlight was the Leidarendi lava tube experience. Our guide was patient (our very small group, 2, contained a septuagenarian), exceedingly knowledgable and took photos for us. Thoroughly recommend.

Our guide, Kommi was amazing - very knowledgable about the caves and volcanoes but also about Iceland in general. He was brilliant with my children, telling them stories and he even made a snowman for them. Couldn't fault the trip, which was really interesting and...More

I would imagine that a six year old would enjoy it. It is confined spaces though and it does depend on the six year old - I would recommend keeping them really close to be safe.
