Beautiful setting on Lake Tjörnin. This a beautiful church was built in 1901 . The church was consecrated on 22 February 1903. Two years later the church was lengthened, to a design by architect Rognvaldur Olafsson. In 1924 the church was enlarged again. Nice historic church. So, if you have the time in Reykjavik go and see it.…

We walked around the large pond in the center of Reykjavík through a great park. On the other side we could see this church and walked to it through other various scenic gardens. It stood out in the area. Not open when we visited but was built in the 1840s and is beautifully maintained and pretty. Worth a photo stop and loved the building.…

Popped into this local piece of history while walking the area. Built originally in 1847 and current building is well maintained. The interior is both beautiful and serene and the stained glass windows are art in themselves. Look,up,and towards the back to see the Awesome pipe organ. A must see.…
