The exhibition Points of View at the Culture House takes guests on a journey through the Icelandic visual world of past and present. Artifacts and works of art from the varied collections of six institutions provide a reflection of Iceland's visual art history and cultural heritage. Artists with different backgrounds and living conditions have expressed similar ideas at all times. There are seven points of view to be found in as many wings of the Culture House, connecting what you'll see, independent from the medium or time.

An eclectic mix of stuff on several floors. 600 ISK per person. Seeing the soccer ball used when Iceland beat England was great. Go Iceland. I recommend skipping this one given all the things to see in Iceland. If this review is helpful then please indicate so below.

All four floors of this magnificent building have wonderful and unusual interpretations of Icelandic history and culture.

We were looking for contemporary art galleries and just happened upon this place. Generally we are dubious of small museums that house multiple subjects, but this place is fantastic. 100% worth the price of admission. Don't miss it!!

The Culture House is an odd, but interesting mixture of very old and very new cultural items. In the same room there was a book from the 1300s and a flat screen TV showing a video and in another there were brooches from 900 and a video of a cowboy with a lasso. The museum had lots of activities for... More

I am pretty thoroughly befuddled by the "point of view" exhibit that I saw (and I don't know if that is the permanent exhibit or something temporary). Essentially, most of the items are on loan from other Icelandic museums and are presented in groups of similar points of view, such as in, out, repeated, up, and down, and so on.... More

As someone who has experience in museum design, I was very impressed by how this museum was (un) rganized and layed out. Something for everyone: art, photography, history, and more. Right in the center of town, and coincidentally across the street from our apartment rental. We don't have little kids anymore, but I was impressed that there was an activity/exhibit... More

By far my favorite museum in the city that I was able to visit. Had a little bit of everything for the history lover. Staff were very friendly and appreciated the lockers for storage.

Such an amazing experience. You won't be wowed by something showy, but if you love history - want to be immersed in it and have a sense of curiosity, this is the place. Just being around books that are hundreds of years old is cool.

To begin with, the building is gorgeous. It is not large really, small enough so that you can see the whole thing at once standing in front of it, and appreciate its perfect proportions. You enter through a door that looks like a door and not like a horizontal guillotine, opening and closing its mouth should you hesitate on entering.... More

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, your review is about the Museum House (Safnahús) in Reykjavík but we are Husavik Museum. We are having a lot of trouble with our listing on Tripadvisor. We have tried to change the information about our museum many times, but it just won't work. I've contacted the Tripadvisor support team, but they haven't been... More

We enjoyed our visit here more than any other in the city. Wonderful building and fascinating and varied exhibits.Mixing the old and new gives a great deal more to the visitor..
