This street is the main shopping area in the city. We loved the local shops and restaurants and tried to visit as many as possible. There is an awesome bookstore that stocks both Icelandic and English books. We even stopped at the local supermarket for...More

This street was amazing and full of shops, cafes and pubs. We walked up and down it many times over our holiday and saw something different each time.

Our first trip to Reykjavik, and we stayed one block from this main shopping area. Lots of shopping, eateries and local bars. Found local yarn, chocolates and Icelandic sweaters. Enjoyed local food and Icelandic beers. People very friendly!

Nice main street with lots of places to eat, souvenir shops and places of interest. And no street would be complete without a Christmas shop.

This is Reykjavik's main street. Many shops of all kinds, restaurants, souvenirs, clothing, and services. It can get crowded at times. Best value grocery store, Bonus is here too.
