Took local bus to shopping centre. Not massive but worth a short visit. Shops as with others in Reykjavik expensive. Clean and tidy centre. Walked back to hotel through the snow just to see other parts of Reykjavik. Would take around 20mins if in a...More

Good place to go if the weather is awful as its a stop on the hop-on hop-off bus. Lots of lovely shops but, like most of Reykjavik, its expensive. But don't go to Iceland and expect it to be cheap.

Was not my first thought of where to go while in Reykjavik, but was suggested to me by my hostel because of a shuttle that they had to city center. Glad I took them up on this. Went to the Kringlan Mall twice during my...More

It was raining today so we opted to take our rental car over to Kringlan Mall to walk and hang out. It’s a pretty clean Mall and being from the US I didn’t have a problem with the parking garage or navigating the Mall. They...More

When we lived here years ago there was no mall so we went to check it out. Various high end stores and a few others. But we were looking for a book on puffins for a 4 year old granddaughter and we found it. So...More

This mall was okay. It was not that many shops, but they had everything we needed. Some of the shops were very expensive. It was a small mall, since it is reykjavíks largest mall(?)

Kringlan Mall (5 Replies)
My only opportunity for shopping on my upcoming trip is going to be the day I arrive, which is a Sunday. I know the Kringlan Mall is open in the afternoon that day but as I have a bit of a bus phobia (always worry getting on the wrong one and driving for days with no hope in sight for getting back - yeah, weird, but I really do hate busses) I am not sure of the best way to get there. If I should take a bus, which one?? I am staying at Room With A View. Thanks!

The numbers 1, 3 and 6 travel from Laekjartorg to Kringlan and back again. However - the 3 and 6 travel a slightly different route than the number 1. The number 1 turns right at Kringlunmyrarbraut with the numbers 3 and 6 travelleing straight along Miklabraut - the stop is near a petrol station just a few steps from the car park at Kringlan for the 3 and 6.

Parking in Reykjavik (4 Replies)
We have 4-6 hours to spend in Reykjavik from late afternoon in April and wonder where to park our car so that we can minimise the need to search for carpark. The places we plan to visit are Hallgrimskirkja, Perlan, Kringlan Mall, Skólavörðustígu, Hverfisgata, Laugavegur, Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, Sculpture & Shore Walk, and ending the day at Grótta Island Lighthouse (hoping to see sun set). Could use some advice on the order of the places to visit and any parking advice....More

You likely will need your car to go to Perlan- quite a walk from city center and perhaps a local can advise if the viewing deck is still open now that the restaurant is closed. You can get a free map of Reyk with all the highlights on it,
