We came across Dillion's and it looked very chill inside so we decided to stop for a drink, it did not disappoint. The inside of the bar itself is like old wood almsot like an older library redone. The liquor selection was plentiful and had almost anything you wanted. We all sat at the bar and some of us sat outside in the front of bar at the cute bistro tables out front. They also had an outdoor back patio where I am sure they had music on certain evenings.

The only weird thing was my son had an old fashioned and the only fruit they put in it was an orange slice, he asked for a cherry but the bartender told him they do not get cherries on the island as by the time they come over seas and are stocked they are mushy and not good so too expensive to import.

They also had very cool Dillon Whiskey t-shirts for sale @ $35.00 USD which were black and super cool as a rememberance. All the bartenders were super nice and gave us some history of the bar and the town itself.

The only issue was it is very small inside so when it gets crowded there is no place to move about and mingle as you are shoulder to shoulder but still a cool place to experience while in town.

Amazing choice of music! Rock, metal, and sometimes a bit eclectic. Make use of the happy hour!
They have live music too, and the barmen were super friendly.
We hunkered down on a freezing, windy day, and ended up spending hours without planning to.

There’s Arthur downstairs and Dillion upstairs, so both are essentially the same business, so I will be writing this review for both places.

Arthur is the smaller place downstairs, has a nice cosy feel to it and a really excellent atmosphere. Had a good laugh with the bar lady and her friend alongside two other guys from the States who were there as customers like myself :). The place has a really excellent vibe to it and you’re made to feel welcome there as if you’re a regular customer, not a visitor to Iceland :).

Upstairs is Dillion, where bands play and there are two levels with one bar on each. This is the largest of the two establishments. This one is the most busiest of the two also and after 17 months of life being shut down, it was a real joy to discover this part of the building. The staff here also are brilliant and they had a good band on. The vibe is different from downstairs due to its live music setting, which I really like.

Thanks again and hopefully see you before I depart back to England :).

On new year’s eve, we were waiting outside the bar - which was full according to the bartender Except for a girl named SIlvia who was allowed to enter from another entrance. Truly embarrassing. Good job guys, have a nice 2022!

Fridays and Saturdays are the best.
Legendary DJ "Grandmother of Rock" Andrea Jónsdóttir starts playing at midnight. The most fun dancing and drinking and a great atmosphere. The only joint in Reykjavik that only playes Rock! Be sure to stay for the final song and sing together with the whole bar

It’s a shame I am leaving this review as a great bar , amazing music but not nice when the bar man charges you nearly double what you should pay and in his defence says… it’s his first day . Just be careful. Shame we won’t be going back there now as it was such a good place.

went here one evening during our Iceland trip. the atmosphere is fantastic. there was music being played through speakers and it was busy, but it didn't feel too loud or cramped. the staff were friendly and helpful. we would stop here again if we were to visit Iceland again. there was also a good variety of drinks. the only downside was how expensive drinks were, although this was the case for all places in Iceland so not a reason to not return.

28th of october 2021. Group of 3.

Probably the largest selection of whiskey I have ever seen. So many choices. On the other hand, the knowledgeable bartender was extra willing to help us decide. Of course there was cold gull beer, but we wanted something to warm us up. As a result, we tried local distill bourbon and whiskeys.

The bar was wooden with simple decorations. The air was that energy pop and rock feeling from the music. Furthermore, it was cozy with view of the street Laugavegur of Reykjavik through the windows.

In short, it is the perfect local bar for drinks.

Nice atmosphere and friendly enough but they don't advise you how much you are paying for drinks, we bought 2 double whiskeys and thought we had paid maybe £20 but found out when we got home they were £40 a shot and it came to £160 ouch our fault for not checking at the time but it would nice to have been advised especially as it was dark and late at night in there. Not very helpful either when we phoned to query it either, no offer of any goodwill of any sort.
