Merry locals, real music, expensive.

The best thing about Dillon is meeting Herman. He is an authentic, and one of the last, working Joes going out for beer and jokes after work. Buy him a beer. He has a baseball cap is the one laughing. The staff is nice. Don't hold the beer price against them. If you are lucky and in town for the weekend you will experience Dj Andrea the rock-'n'-roll moma. Herman is a fan. They take requests. This joint is highly recommended!

Very expensive.

Extremely expensive. We paid £60 for two Japanese whiskeys here. Which I think is ludicrously expensive?? I know Iceland is expensive but this seems exceptionally expensive.

There’s Arthur downstairs and Dillion upstairs, so both are essentially the same business, so I will be writing this review for both places.

Arthur is the smaller place downstairs, has a nice cosy feel to it and a really excellent atmosphere. Had a good laugh with the bar lady and her friend alongside two other guys from the States who were there as customers like myself :). The place has a really excellent vibe to it and you’re made to feel welcome there as if you’re a regular customer, not a visitor to Iceland :).

Upstairs is Dillion, where bands play and there are two levels with one bar on each. This is the largest of the two establishments. This one is the most busiest of the two also and after 17 months of life being shut down, it was a real joy to discover this part of the building. The staff here also are brilliant and they had a good band on. The vibe is different from downstairs due to its live music setting, which I really like.

Thanks again and hopefully see you before I depart back to England :).

Nice patio and good whiskey selection
Jul 2021
Stopped here for a drink (got a pour of Icelandic whiskey to try and a ginger beer) and while the overall vibe was cool, and the patio was really nice, the prices were quite expensive ($30 for one whiskey and a ginger beer). Service was friendly.

If you love rock music and whiskey this place is a must

Lovely and cozy bar with a super hospitable staff. This place is on more than one level with a music room at the very top . The live music was amazing. Rustic and authentic Icelandic atmosphere. Awesome whiskey selection. They also have good beers too. Very cool place to hang out for a beer or whiskey with friends. A must if you like whiskey.

Great bar
Feb 2020
My husband and I stopped in here after having dinner. We each ordered a cocktail and like any bar in Iceland it was a bit pricey. The drink was excellent and the place was rather busy for it being a Sunday night.

great place
Jan 2020
went here one evening during our Iceland trip. the atmosphere is fantastic. there was music being played through speakers and it was busy, but it didn't feel too loud or cramped. the staff were friendly and helpful. we would stop here again if we were to visit Iceland again. there was also a good variety of drinks. the only downside was how expensive drinks were, although this was the case for all places in Iceland so not a reason to not return.

Best bar in Reykjavik bar none
Jan 2020 • Friends
Fridays and Saturdays are the best.
Legendary DJ "Grandmother of Rock" Andrea Jónsdóttir starts playing at midnight. The most fun dancing and drinking and a great atmosphere. The only joint in Reykjavik that only playes Rock! Be sure to stay for the final song and sing together with the whole bar
