My husband and I booked this city tour with tui. It was sold to us as an amazing way to see the sites of Reykjavík! This was not the case, the first stop was at the church (which I wanted to see), we got there to find out we couldn’t go inside as there was a concert on (very disappointed) so we stood out for five mins before getting back on the coach, next we where took to another building we couldn’t go in, some dome building, so we stood outside for another five mins and took photos of scenery. Next we where took to a glass building which lights up, we could go in this building but this was just to go to the top and see scenery, about 10mins here. Then onto the building where Ronald Reagan and Mr Gorbachev signed a peace treaty to end the Cold War and where Berlin donated a piece of the Berlin Wall to Iceland, just a bit of rock that’s been painted and a house standing on its own in front of the sea. We then went onto the flyover, which is a virtual reality video over Iceland, your strapped into the chair and suspended while virtually flying over the Iceland country, this was very good and we both enjoyed this part of the tour, but to pay over £60 each for this tour was too expensive and I urge you not to do the city tour but go pay for the fly over and do that separately. …

Have booked a number of experiences over a 6 day trip booked as a birthday present for my fiancé. Each and every one of them has been FANTASTIC!!! We started with a seafood and northern light tour and had a fabulous guide who took us to the restaurant, filling in loads of interesting Icelandic facts along the way! The seafood was amazing and though the northern lights only made a small appearance we were also taken to Gunnuhver, to see the geothermal activity! Fascinating!! On the second day we booked a glacier and volcano tour which was a HUGE tick off the bucket list when you can stand on the tip of the volcano that last erupted in 2010 surrounded by ice and snow! Our guide Reynir was spectacular!!! Can’t say enough about how interesting he was and what superb driving skills he exhibited! We visited the blue lagoon also and loved the experience! The clay and algae masks are an experience in themselves! Didn’t take any photos as I was sure to drop my phone in the hot springs! Finally to top it all off we booked a boat trip to welcome the new year in and OMG the Icelanders know how to throw a party when you see a whole city alight with sparkling plumes from one end of the horizon to the other as you float out in the harbour! SPECTACULAR!!! …

Helmir picked us up at 4A at the airport and took us to all the perfect spots on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. We had a great breakfast at a bakery, a delicious lunch (which we had to adjust due to some restaurants being closed in the winter). The van was modern and comfortable (even had WIFI. I would strongly recommend Helmir and Touring Iceland for any travel in Iceland.…
