We have taken similar multi-adventure trip with other companies over the past decade. Wife and I are fast approaching 70, fit and active but not 25 years old by a very long shot. This was by far the best trip we have taken. Iceland is unique, beautiful, and diverse. An interesting culture is easy to find without having to dig thru a pile of tourist propaganda. The thing that set this tour apart from the others, was the knowledge of the tour guides. They were well versed in details of the culture and provided opportunities for us to experience it first hand. They accommodated our physical limitations and were very flexible in tour alternatives. Food was excellent utilizing local cuisine and providers. We were never hungry or thirsty. We missed our flight delaying our arrival by a day, causing us to miss the first day's activities. The guides were helpful in connecting us to the group, nothing a 6 hour taxi ride couldn't cure. The took us to a couple places that we missed during some free time we had on day 2. Couldn't ask for anything more than that. Biking was part of the tour - the bikes fit us and performed perfectly, sized exactly right. We opted to cut the last leg of the bike trip short to visit a location of rock formations and scenery. Well worth the change. Reykjavik was awesome. We will explore that further on the next trip to see the Northern Lights.. In summary I highly recommend Back Roads. While not inexpensive, it is worth the attention to detail and level of service provided.

I was on nl tour and really thank this company! Very thankful on their effort and I actually was lucky enough to sight the NL soley thanks to Iceland Offroad. If I didnt book here, I am sure I wouldnt have seen the northern lights. This company was actually willing to show the northern lights to the tourist and tried so hard with vague possibility. Bringing us here and there. Ive heard some other companies gave up on even going out that night. Thanks to their effort I made it! Thank you very much.

We emailed them on Saturday through the web site, then with no response my wife emailed directly on Monday and then with no response I emailed again through direct email and the web site and had no response. So I called the next day, at probably $3 a minute, and the person answered after 5 rings with "Hello?" No company name or anything. When I asked if it was Iceland Offroad he said "uh, yes?" I mentioned that the emails were not working because we have sent 4 emails over 4 days and have not received any response. He said "Oh no the emails work fine we just do not have any tours planned for a while." What??? I wasted 4 days and about an hour of my time contacting this company and they don't even mention anything on their web site? What a waste of time! So don't waste your time and use a legit company instead.

Great trip for group of 9 (family) 9 PM pick up on time and very comfortable super Jeep ride. Guide really “taught” us about Iceland culture, geography and more. Ride out to open snowy fields with no light, buildings or interference and no promises of visuals. However, his honesty was perfect as 70% of visitors do not get too see the Magic that we did. More significantly, our guide was a photographer and really helped all of us to photo and understand what the naked eye could and could not see. Also took beautiful pictures of the group which he mailed to us. Hot chocolate and some drinks after a few hours outside were the perfect ending to a perfect night. And pictures to remember. .

We were out on a night with unfortunately very little activity - but that's nature. Some photos were taken were you could some green colored images (without camera you could only see some white shades). Nevertheless, I was keen to get the spare pictures of my wife and I and the northernlights, taken by the tourguide. However, Stefan was unwilling to send those images to my email address (he simply said he had no time, really?!). After repeatedly asking, I simply got ignored, so no images, also not on their facebook page. Very dissapointing, definitely considering the price of the tour and small size of the group. Further, I expected a bit more background and explanation about this beautiful natural wonder, but not a word, clearly no experts. Therefore, save your money and book another tour - can not recommend.
