We are a group of five adults that had a wonderful trip with Omar in the Highlands. The Iceland's ring road is magnificent in itself, but if you want to experience the next level of Iceland, a trip inside the island is exactly what you need. We were extremely lucky to be accompanied by Omar in our adventure, his passion and knowledge on Iceland being exactly what you need to get a deeper understanding of that beautiful land.

Omar is an amazing guide! He arranged a fantastic day tour for us! My request was to “get off the beaten path” and we did! We drove up a volcano, hiked on a glacier, explored a canyon with a hidden waterfall and a few other spots along the way. I enjoyed Omar’s storytelling while we were driving from place to place. Through those stories I learned some of the rich and magical history of Iceland. We all enjoyed Omar’s company and became fast friends. When I go back someday, I will get my second tour from him.

We recently enjoyed a private 7 day tour of Iceland for our family of 7. Having limited time, we concentrated on southern Iceland, the Golden Circle, and Thorsmork. As part of our vacation, we spent two days with Omar, touring in his heavily modified and luxurious 4x4. This enabled us to visit many sites that would be impossible with a typical vehicle. Omar was a fantastic guide, so knowledgeable in Icelandic history and culture. Every question was answered in great detail and it clear how much Omar is proud of his country and history. In addition to visiting Geysir and the many sites of the Golden Circle, Omar took us to our glacier snowmobiling excursion. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The experience of being on top of a mountain on top of a glacier, with the panoramic 360 degree views, was amazing.
On our second day, Omar took us to Thorsmork, a rugged mountain ridge and valley that is best explored by 4x4. Omar was a great guide here, showing us many sites and leading us on hikes through the remnants of glacier lakes, glaciers, and waterfalls. His driving ability was appreciated as we negotiated river beds, streams, and the like. This was a beautiful part of Iceland that we would not have seen otherwise.
We finished up our tour with a ride on the black sand beach near Vik which was also a lot of fun. It’s hard to imagine we could have enjoyed our time in Iceland more and Omar was one of the best guides we’ve had anywhere.

Omar was a fantastic guide. My wife and i and our four kids -- age 11 to 18 -- spent four days with Omar exploring southern Iceland -- on the Fire and ice Tour. He arranged everything -- the agenda for each day, where we stayed and where we ate. It was perfect.

I won't list all the places we went (mostly because I can't spell them) but each day provided something different. Of course, glaciers, volcanos, lagoons, lava fields, black sand beaches, hikes, boat rides, 4 wheeling through rivers.

Omar also had a perfect balance between telling great stories, giving us some of the history of the Island and letting our family have family time.

We never write Tripadvisor reviews but felt compelled this time because of the great job Omar did.

If you are looking from someone to show you around Iceland, look no further !

My family of 6 just returned from a wonderful holiday from Iceland and we have had such a fun-filled 7 days with Omar

and his head-turning 4 wheels monster truck ! He brought us through the rugged and unbeaten terrains and showed us

a different planet as he promised when he met us at the airport on our arrival.

He was kind and patient with all my 4 children , 2 young adults and 2 teenagers, and always have something to surprise us

towards the end of day. We were awed by the sights and the paths taken, deep snow, narrow terrain, beach track, rivers etc

that was only possible with his 4 wheels monster truck and he even picked up plants by the wayside for us to taste !

I am an owner of travel agency with offices in Asia and traveled extensively around the world and I have not rated anyone so highly

as much as I rated Omar from ICiceland ! This was a very memorable trip for my entire family for many many years to come !

You can count on Omar, the Dreammaker,as we called him,to deliver !

We went to Iceland to present at an environmental conference and were on a limited budget. Omar picked us up at the airport and gave us the warmest welcome. He dropped us at the air b& B that he found which saved us tons of $$. He also helped us with dinner reservations and finding our next air b&b. I can't say enough good things about him. He was so generous, friendly and personable. He has meticulous attention to detail. He even followed up on the cash I accidentally left in our air B & B and had it returned to me. He went above and beyond what anyone would do!!! I highly highly recommend him!

Omar was great to communicate with even months in advance. I wrote to him as well as a few other guides and he seemed the most interested in creating a tour suited for our group. Everything from the food to surprise features during the trip made this our best day in Iceland. His price is fair and we were very comfortable in the SUV (it even included wifi). Next time we visit Iceland I'll be sure to book with Omar again.

I took my friends to an amazing West Country and Glacier tour. The sightseeing was beautiful with variations of great things Iceland has to offer, e.g. caves, hot springs, waterfalls and glacier experience. The jeep was BIG with every comfort possible (WiFi) so we were able to upload picture as we took them and share the experience with friends. The most amazing thing about the tour was Omar and his endearing personality. He made us laugh a lot and had knowledge with great facts over everything we asked about. We were blown away!!

IC Iceland Tours is fantastic.

We have a very active 8 year old and 15 year old so we were looking for something a little more adventurous than watching scenery go by from a bus window and wandering sites as part of a tourist pack. Both the tours we took included significant time off road; we even forded some rivers, and climbed a mountainside.

Omar is everything you could want in a guide: personable, funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. We took two tours with him. The first was the classic Golden Circle (easy way to see many of the most famous sites -- geysers, waterfalls, Þingvellir National Park). We also rode onto a glacier, and Omar took us around to look at the melt off and the lake it created. No bus would have been able to ford that river around the glacier or drive up and into it like that! Omar's very clean, very comfortable stretch 4WD vehicle is so much better than being packed with scores of tourists in a bus.

We also took the Landmannalaugar tour. Omar ensured that we had some fantastic hiking as part of this. The scenery is like nothing else on earth. He took us partway up Hekla, for example (a volcano that last erupted ten years ago). It was a long day but one of the best we've ever had (and we've travelled around the world). We were sorry to say good-bye to Omar because we felt like he'd become a member of the family.

Omar is responsive to what you want and a guide who knows all the secrets. I recommend his company very highly: I can't imagine better.

We took a one day tour with Omar and it absolutely was the highlight of our time in Iceland. We gave him a general idea of what we wanted to do and he put a custom trip together that was perfect for our family. We did all the top Golden Circle sites ourselves, so when we did the tour with Omar, we saw all the sites that we would have never been able to get to ourselves (and I mean literally since Omar drives what is effectively a monster truck) including a hike in Landmannlaugar. Right from the start of the trip, he was so friendly and knowledgable, it made the experience so much more meaningful. We learned a great deal that one day and Omar engaged with everyone from our family to make sure they felt included. We also packed the day with visits to a wide variety of sites, from lush waterfalls to lava field moonscapes, to a replica of a viking house (and Game of Thrones filming site), to an active volcano, to canyons and craters and an awesome hour and a half hike.

We've done tours before, but its safe to say that no tour hosts have been as great as Omar. The combination of planning the perfect tour for us, getting to things we'd never have a chance to see otherwise and then Omar's skill at conversation and deep knowledge made it a special and unforgettable day!!

If you are going to visit icelend, then I could not more strongly recommend a tour with Omar to get to see the real Iceland and come away a little bit smarter!
