About Whale Safari Iceland
Whale Safari is Reykjavik's premier small groups whale watching & wildlife tour operator. Our specially made RIB boats are made to get close to the whales, dolphins and puffins of the Faxafloi Bay. We only seat 12 passengers per boat, and each boat has a expert whale watching guide and captain on board. This is the ideal way to come in contact with nature with this intimate experience. Another thing is that all our small group tours are real ocean safaris, as we search for the whales we also visit the puffins when they are in season and do a sightseeing tour of Reykjavik from the sea front. Oh! And all of this in less then two hours. Our ticket office and service center is located in the Old Harbor in downtown Reykjavik and is open year round from 8:00-21:00. Tours are operated up to 8 times a day, everyday from the 15th of April to the 30th of September.

Cruise Faxaflói Bay in a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) on a 2-hour, small-group whale-watching expedition from Reykjavik. Board a speedy RIB at the Old Harbor, and skim alongside graceful seabirds as you pass seasonal puffin colonies. Watch for minke and humpback whales, porpoises, and white-beaked dolphins, and then return to the harbor along the Reykjavik shoreline. Pause alongside the Harpa Concert Hall and the Sun Voyager sculpture as you take in the city’s most distinctive sights from the water.

We would have liked to go on this whale watch but they canceled on us multiple times, when other boats of the same size and type were still going out to sea — we understand caution in rough seas but why were other rib boats...More

The rib boat did not seat many people and so you are working closely with the guides. We had a captain, and two guides, so 3 sets of professional eyes to spot Puffins, Dolphins, and Whales. We saw a few Minke whales and a big...More

This tour was a lot of fun. We were on a RIB with seats that have a special design to absorb the impact of the waves. Since this boat goes super fast you come down on the waves hard. I hurt my tailbone after the...More
