Loved our experience with Touris. I am sure many operators provide a standard itinerary but what makes Touris stand our is them being available on call 24/7 and also working to resolve the smallest of your issues. Bragi and Hebba were exceptional in responding to all the questions and the hotels they booked were absolutely gems. Its impossible to locate these places on your own and TourIS stands out in this than any other provider. The itinerary that was provided was spot on including highlighting the smallest of the detail to make the best use of time without having to go searching for places. Thank you for such an amazing experience and i will look forward to coming back again and would have no hesitation in reaching out to you for the planning.

Perfect planning of our 11 nights self drive trip too ok Iceland. I told them what part of Iceland we wanted to visit and that we didn’t want to spend more than 2 hrs/day on the road and then they did everything (and I really mean everything): booked the hotels, planned the itinerary, suggested (then booked) activities on the way… airport pickup and drop off. car rental… everything went smoothly and they always answered
my emails right away when I had questions. I highly recommend them.
I also have to say that it didn’t cost more than if I had planned everything by myself (which I usually do) and it saved me from stress.
Thanks Hebba and colleagues!

Touris from the get go were friendly, informative, knowledgeable and could not do enough to help me on my budget create a holiday of a lifetime, which they did in spades. I can honestly say it’s the best holiday we have ever had, I can recommend them with confidence and would definitely use them again if we get the chance to return to Iceland.
We enjoyed the Golden circle jeep tour and snowmobile and recommend it as the best way to spend a day that really shows you that part of Iceland. We laughed so much on the very professional snowmobile part of the trip and the Mountaineers of Iceland hosts provide you with a head/ neck scarf, full protective body suit, gloves and helmet. You do not need a hat, scarf or gloves but where warm comfortable clothing.
Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and professional… Thank you G 😊
Tip: Take a packed lunch with you as it gives you greater freedom to enjoy the sights instead of queuing to buy food and drink.
If you want to see the South of Iceland but don’t want to drive then you can not go wrong with the Glacier Lagoon & South Iceland trip.
It’s a full day out but so worth it so enjoyable every moment, good guide with lots of knowledge.
Top tip take enough food and drink for a full day out so that you can enjoy every minute.
Elding Whale watching was an experience that I never forget with a fantastic company who care and respect the marine life, whilst sharing with you the the seas wonders.
We were lucky enough to see white-beaked dolphins and a humpback 🐋 whale.
If we ever get back to Reykjavík we would definitely go Whale 🐳 watching with them again.
Elding whale watching had research persons on board who were informative and even kindly shared their photos with you.
A perfect way to spend the morning.
The blue lagoon, that says it all, well worth the visit
Thank you so much all of you for a perfect holiday x

I am usually a great travel planner, but this time the names of the towns in Iceland were really challenging for me. I went with Tour.IS for the self drive tour. We made one small change to one of the listed website itineraries and everything went off without a hitch, from our private car transfer to the rental car and all the hotels along the way. At our first hotel we were given our comprehensive packet of information. We chose the mid-level hotels and they got better and better as the trip went along--not sure how the last few hotels could be any nicer (unless the view would make it "higher tier", for example a Lake Myvatn view instead of an inland view). We chose some of our own detours and stops along the way that weren't all listed on the itinerary, and frequently referred to the large map, itinerary, as well as the Google Maps "attractions" feature. The in car wifi worked great 95% of the time which made is so convenient to look things up and appease the teenagers in the car on the long drives. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company for your Iceland travel planning.

Big thanks to Bragi and Tour.is for the very well planned trip! Everything went smoothly - from the airport pick up on the first day and drop off on the last day, to the car rental and also all the hotels.
Due to some flight delays, we reached Iceland a little later than the originally expected arrival time but our driver was waiting at the arrival hall patiently for us. Having a driver to fetch us to the city definitely takes away the stress of getting familiar with the roads especially after a long flight.
We went with Comfort category accommodations and all the hotels booked for us were clean, cosy and some even had very good views of the surroundings due to the layout of the hotel. Information booklet, maps and itinerary given were very informative as well, third party vendors such as ice cave hiking and whale watching cruises that were booked with third parties were all spot on - there was not much hiccups and not much that we needed to worry about the whole trip too and we could enjoy ourselves.
Last of all, we personally feel that Tour.is offers the most value for money packages vs. other tour agencies that offer similar packages.
Overall we had a memorable experience with the help of Tour.is, and would definitely recommend Tour.is to anyone who may want to visit Iceland in the future.

We had an incredible trip to Iceland thanks to Hebba with Tour.Is Travel Agency! We were supposed to visit Iceland during the summer of 2020 but because of COVID we had to postpone our trip to this summer (2021). From the first day I booked the trip in 2020 to our return home last week, Hebba was in regular communication with me to ensure our trip was perfect. Upon our arrival in Iceland, Hebba prepared for us a packet of very useful resources, e.g., maps, tour book, driving instructions, etc. Everything from renting our car to the accommodations and excursions was effortless (highly recommend the glacier hike). I highly recommend using Tour.Is Travel Agency, and Hebba, to facilitate planning a trip to Iceland!

My friend and I wanted to plan a self drive tour in South Iceland including the Golden circle, Black sand beaches and Glacier Lagoon. Jonsi from Touris was amazing with communicating with us and making sure everything we wanted to do and see was planned. Everything from the rental car (which included wifi) to the hotels he recommended, to the actual printed itinerary with helpful information were perfect. I will be recommending to anyone I know who wants to visit Iceland to book with this tour company! Wonderful experience and can’t wait to visit Iceland again!

Hebba from Touris planned our trip excellently and flawlessly from the 4WD to the hotels and the activities. She answered every email sent to her with many questions and after that came up with a tailor made drive-around itinerary. Her choice of hotels and tours were spot on. Everything flowed seamlessly. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing trip. Thank you Hebba

We had a customized 16 day itinerary for the West Fjords and the Ring Road, with some constraints on how many lodging changes would become uncomfortable, and the fine team at TourIS - Hörður and Bragi and Hebba - set us up for success and supported us through some potentially trip-altering weather. We were sent a warning as the storm was forecast and knew that we would get logistical help if the roads became impassible (they didn’t).
The airport transfer, later rental car pickup, and all our bookings were frictionless, and we enjoyed the lodging selections.
Throughout the planning process, the booking & deposits phase, and the actual trip, the team has been quick to respond, knowledgeable, helpful, and informative.

My family of 5 had an absolutely fantastic trip!to Iceland planned by TOURIS. We did the self driving, Full Iceland Circle Tour. Bragi did an amazing job with our itinerary, and he was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, answering lots of questions and providing guidance.
Every part of our trip was exceptionally well organized. Our drivers to/from the airport showed up on time and all of our accommodations and activities were well booked. We loved experiencing all of the small, local hotels and guesthouses that we stayed in, along with their wonderful restaurants. Finally, the packet of information that we were provided upon arrival was incredibly thorough and helpful.
The ATV ride, Zodiac boat tour, whale watching and the Blue Lagoon were all exceptional.
I have planned many trips on my own with the help of the Internet, but I cannot imagine planning a Self Driving Tour of Iceland on my own from the States. There are just too many moving parts and you really need the expertise of someone knowledgeable and in-country. I highly recommend TOURIS to anyone that I know who is considering a trip to Iceland.
All 5 members of my family fell in love with Iceland. It is such a beautiful country.

Has anyone booked a private guided full circle tour with Tour.is? Almost all reviews are for self-drive tours.

Does TOURIS provide wifi or a phone in the car?
Written October 21, 2019
We did not take any from Tour IS. I'm sure they could arrange if you want one. We bought SIM cards from hotel. They aren't expensive.
But you need an unlocked smartphone.
They are also available in stores at the airport.

Were breakfasts included on the hotels chosen by Touris? (Category two)
Written August 16, 2019
Breakfast was included in our bookings in April. But heard from coworkers who went in summer months didn't have. But I am not sure which company they used.

How detailed were the itineraries provided on the self driving tour? I'm a planner, and it makes me a little nervous to not have the plan in hand to study before departure. Thanks!
Written June 6, 2018
Sorry for the late reply. Very detailed eg where to turn etc. I look through the details, do my own list for places (rough guide) to go before the trip, at least I have a rough idea how Long it takes to reach (worst and best case). Iceland’s change is unpredictable so always check the Veður (weather) app

Hi, I would like to inquire for a 9 days self drive tour for 3 pax starting from july 17,2018 to july 25,2018. We are tavelling on a budget so we would appreciate if you could give us a qoute with a humble amount. We would also like to include the Snaefellsness peninsula in west and the Fjadrarhljufur on the south as I see that most self drive tours do not include this sites.

June temperature in Iceland?
Written March 1, 2018
I found somewhere the average temp for June is 42 F Low and and 55 F High. In early July it seemed to average about 50 F during the day, dropping down to upper 30s/low 40s at night.

In your opinion, when is the best time to visit Iceland to get the most out of he experience? I love natural beauty and geography but also cultural experiences such as festivals and such. Any recommendations for absolute must try foods or restaurants? I am looking to see and do as much as I can in a week. Any recommendations for hotels or bed and breakfasts?

Hi, I am planning a trip in June 2017 with 3 teens. Was wondering if 5 days would be good enough to cover places of interest? Would you be able to suggest the itinerary and cost please. TQ
Written October 24, 2016
I think 5-7 days would be enough. I would go counter clockwise on the island and also see the Blue Lagoon in Rejkavik (sp). .We used Tour.Is. and liked them very much. We rented a car from them and they gave us everything we needed to see the sights. We chose the level 2 hotels. They were not fancy, but certainly nice enough. All were very clean. Food is VERY expensive in Iceland. We ended up buying lunch meat, bread and fruit for our lunches. Breakfasts were included at all hotels. We also brought snacks with us for the long drives. We went in June. It was cold but manageable with coats, gloves and hats. Have a wonderful time.

I have 4 days is Iceland.....staying in Reykjavik.....what should I be seeing in that time frame and I am willing to hire a guide?
Written October 2, 2016
Hi I am curious about the driving time during the 7 day tour. can you tell me how you found the driving each day? How many hours did you drive each day to get to your next place. Did you find you had enough time to see the sites and take in some activities. Do you have any tips you can share to make the most out of this trip. Did you stay in the comfort hotels or other. Did you rent a 4 x 4? I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks.
Written July 6, 2016
Great question. We did the 7 day circle tour last summer. We added most of the optional activities and felt that we didn't have enough time to get to the activities AND drive the distances between each hotel. If I did this tour again, I would add a day after the glacier walk and after the whale watching. We did the glacier walk and then drove directly to the glacial lagoon and they were already closed when we arrived! We spent less than an hour at Lake Myvatn nature baths and still arrived at our nightly lodging after they had closed the desk for the night. We had to call our hotels everyday and tell them that we would be checking in after 8 or 9. This wasn't usually a problem with the bed and breakfast because it was summer. If you are traveling during a different season it would be more of a problem. We often walked into the restaurants right before they closed for the night. One night we got to our Bed and Breakfast too late to enjoy dinner in the one restaurant in town. We didn't usually eat lunch, or if we did, we ate on the road. That being said, this was one of the best experiences. I just hated feeling like we were rushing everyday. If you don't purchase the additional activities, you should make good time. If you do add the optionals, maybe ask about additional days in the middle of your trip. I found Tour.Is was flexible in scheduling options.
