We drove to the lighthouse at low tide. The beach was great, lots of sea shells that you can pick up. The light house was nice, you can't go in it though. Great spot for some pictures and to see the ocean from the rocks.

I haven't been there at daytime but at the night. Its great dark place within the large city to see the northern light, there is a lot of parking there, and it's about 10 minutes driving from the city center.
We went up there on our last day of Iceland trip. We could't go to the lighthouse as the tide was up and it was getting dark. But sitting there and looking at the lighthouse and listening to the sound of the water was so...More
we were very fortunate to get a great sunny day for our walk to this area. we got local bus (No 11) and had a good walk around the lighthouse, looking for birds and appreciating the surrounding views. lots of people around as I think...More
Romantic place on the top of Seltjananess with bird whatching, smale nature Museum and place for resting. View to Snaefellsness by good weather conditions. Lighthouse only accessilble on low Tide.
Take a drive down (free parking) and go for a stroll along the beach and potter in the rock pools. A gentle walk (with maybe a little clambering if the tide is in) to a quaint little lighthouse staring down the Atlantic Ocean. Great place...More
We watched the weather and found 4 hours of clear night skys. There is a big car park and turning circle so we parked up. After 30 mins the lights appeared - faint but as its so dark we could see them Its 20 mins...More
The view is amazing in the day. You can take a quick walk to see the surrounding area. During the winter months it is a good area where you can go and see the northern lights. It does get very cold, so plan for that.
The walk here in the brisk winter wind was worth it. The lighthouse and the area surrounding it were spectacular. It is worth seeing. Don't let a lack of car stop you from going here. It's only about a 10 minute walk from the Lindarbraut...More
Peaceful, quiet, relaxing.... an unusually quiet place in Reykjavik! We loved it! Views out to sea, beach, and a quirky/unusual lighthouse. Would recommend!
