The Harpa as they call is a beautiful building overlooking the water. The glass structure is beautiful stained glass windows. There is a movie in the basement that shows the different parts of Iceland aka east and north. We didn't go see a show which I was upset about. They had great choices of operas to watch.

This building is so different and beautifull, the design and the all glass exterior is stunning. There was an exibitions of emergency vehicules used in Iecland when we were there so nice.

We walked from the boat docks toward the opera house. Pleasant walk, looking at all the large fishing vessels on dry dock , a cruise ship pulled into the harbor when we were there.

The building is stunning. As others have said, go inside. The glass tiles are at different angles so catch the sun (it was sunny while we were there!) creating living reflections. We did this after visiting the Viking ship sculpture so we're able to walk along the waterfront and enjoy the view of the harbor.
