Loved the architecture and spacious of the building. We misinterpreted a video on the plane saying there was a movie here showing the natural wonders of Iceland . The video we paid 5.200 for was basically an artist interpretation of the wonders similar to something I did in film art in 12 th grade. Appreciate the building and skip the video.

I was in Reykjavik with my partner celebrating my 40th birthday March 2022. We were doing some sightseeing and decided to take a look inside here. A lovely bit of architecture and love it when lit up in the evenings. There’s also a restaurant inside although we didn’t try. Worth a visit

people: you are reviewing and posting pics of the Harpa which is a different building entirely from The Iceland Opera house!

This page confused me a bit when I was reading about all the attractions before I left for Iceland - it's worth noting that this is actually the same place as the Harpa building, it's just where the Icelandic Opera is based. I've written a review about the actual place on the Harpa page. Beautiful building, worth a visit. Would love to see a production by the Icelandic Opera next time I'm there, I've heard a lot of very good things about them!

We didn't watch an opera but did stop here for photos and a quick coffee to shelter from the bitter winds. Nice building, makes for great photographs. As we left there was a bad playing, very talented singer!

The building itself is very impressive and you can climb 5 stories to get some incredible photos but it was the architecture of the building itself that intrigued me. The angles and materials used presented a creativity I have not seen before and which fascinated me. There is a gift shop on site which was filled with lots of lovely Christmassy things but I did not attend any event to report on.

A must if you visit Reykjavik.
And it is free to explore the building!
The top floor restaurant has amazing views over the harbour and the restaurant bar was a relaxing, not too expensive and great views too.
We did not attend any shows but the visit to see the architecture was as good as our visit to the Sydney Opera House earlier in the year!

This modern building is so beautiful in design inside and out, so many shapes and views that you have a wide choice of photographic subjects. A lovely café to sit drinking coffee and taking in the interior design.
Well worth a visit

This place is a beauty, its just amazing when you enter and see how the structure was built, its an important part of the city and definitely a must if you are with some spare time, it doesn't take much of your time unless you wanna see any of the plays, its free to enter and very impressive!
