We stumbled upon the city library while walking around the area. I enjoyed walking around and checking out the fiction collections and my wife and I actually found some great books and souvenirs for family members.

I was looking for the photography museum when I happened upon the Reykjavik City Library. There happen to be an exhibition of photograph from a local photographer on the 6th floor. As I went down from the 6th floor using the stairs the walls were...More

We visited the museum of photography here, and we saw the exhibition “mood”. The pictures seemed to be a bit sparsely spread out, and some of them seemed quite ordinary. There were some old pictures in the stair well which made the climb to the...More

Drizzling outside, we took shelter in the Library. We had no plans to visit it. A sudden curiosity to size it up and compare with others overcame me. Not on the scale of National Library of Australia or the Congress Library, this library is appropriate...More

There are some exhibits for you to view in cabinets around the library and there are some interesting photos on the walls of the gallery just as you enter the library. Signage is in English...which is helpful.

Can I scan and email items from here?

I don't know about scanning and email. My experience is email is available in all libraries.
Do you have any original copies of old ( 13th century on) Icelandic music in the library. If so, is it on general display, or do we need to book an appointment?
