I looked for a horse tour that would accommodate our four year-old daughter. Viking Horses set up a private tour for us. They picked us up from our hotel. Everyone was friendly and kind. They showed my daughter how to brush her horse. When she wasn't able to direct the horse herself, they tied the reins of her horse to... More

The stables are only 15 minutes into the beautiful countryside of Reykjavik-lupines, lava and streams. We were a family group of nine-all levels( 2 who had never been on a horse). Kristina managed to get most of us tolting-which is soo much fun! The Icelandic horses are terrific-very well behaved. Kristina took many pictures with her iphone and ours. This... More

We went on this tour during a cruise to England, Scotland, Iceland, Norway, and Denmark. My twin 10-year-old sons have declared this tour to be the best of our many adventures! From start to finish, Verena's hospitality was incredible. Her emails were prompt and she gave us flexible options. Most companies have minimum ages that we don't meet. Verena arranged... More

Amazing ride!! If you plan to visit Iceland this is a tour you must do! We were somewhat familiar with horses but haven't been around them in a long time. We arrived at the stables after they picked us up from out hotel to a friendly welcome and meet and greet with our horse. We entered a paddock so we... More

We are all beginner riders and thoroughly enjoyed our slow ride which turned to a Icelandic tolt. We went through the volcanic remains and even a little water jaunt. Definitely recommended for all levels of riders. Hoping to see some pics on Instagram soon!

Viking horses is a small family runned stable just outside of Reykjavik. They offer various tours and a pick up from wherever you staying in town. I chosed the morning one in a small group. We were four riders guided by two members of staff. It was raining but that wasn't a problem as we got the raining gear (trousers... More

I came to Iceland in January and went for a day-ride. Afterwards, I had lunch with Verena, Viggo, and a few other riders. It was absolutely beautiful where we rode, and our small group made the experience truly special and personal. I especially like how much attention Verena pays to each rider's experience and confidence level. There were first time... More

I was lucky enough to enjoy a solo trip with this wonderful company. Verena picked me up at my lodging and then provided me with extra clothing so I was warm and cozy on my ride. My guide, Christina, was enthusiastic and a ton of fun. After enjoying the tolt we did some galloping. I've ridden before but this was... More

Less than a week ago I joined a morning ride with Viking Horses. We were in a small group: only 5 people plus two owners Verena and Viggo. Initially I was a bit nervous because of my lack of experience, but the horses are great and very well trained and Verena and Viggo were very attentive to all of us.... More

I think the most unique part was sitting around the table with Verena and her staff. They served an afternoon snack and SKyr. THere were 6 of us so it was a small group. They take a lot of time to make sure you are somfortable on your horse. The ride was the perfect amount of time. Not to long... More
