We booked the Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon tour with Your Day Tours and it was a fantastic day . The weather was very changeable, we had cloud , wind , rain , sunshine , clear skies and more cloud and rain but the day was brilliant. Our driver/ guide Siggi was great , very knowledgeable, entertaining and helpful, trying to make things easier and less time consuming so that we could enjoy more of the sights and activities with less hassle. We visited Thingvellar national park , Gullfoss waterfall , the Geysers where we also had lunch , recommend the lamb as recommended by Siggi , also we had a short visit to a farm to see Icelandic horses and sheep and sheepdogs and a woollen mill shop ,and finally the secret lagoon for some relaxing bathing in the heated pool with a nice cold drink . A fantastic full day and recommend it , make sure to dress accordingly, was very cold in parts but very enjoyable. Thank you Siggi , your majesty , for a wonderful tour.

What an amazing experience. The itinerary was perfect - three waterfalls, a glacier, a black sand beach with basalt columns and fantastic scenery plus a visit to a small village with shopping opportunity as well as a cafe for lunch, a woollen factory and a supermarket.
Ian was our driver guide and could not have been more friendly and helpful. It was a long day but the time just sped past as we drove along a very scenic route.
Tryggvi was so helpful beforehand with instructions, advice and information. Highly recommended.
The price of the tour was very good value too.

A few years ago, when I first visited Iceland, a friend told me I needed to book tours with Iceland Guided Tours because they're a small, family company, and you get more individualized, personal service. I did three tours that visit, and loved every minute of every one of them.
This visit, I went back and booked the same tours again. We did the South Coast Tour with Sigurjón, and it was better than I remember. Furthermore, my partner and I were the only guests on the tour, so we got 100% personal attention -- our own private day with a guide.
Unfortunately, our Northern Lights tour was cancelled due to weather, but the company was very communicative throughout our visit, and we felt very much like they were providing us the very best service possible.
In short, I would tour with IG Tours every time I go to Iceland, and I would recommend them resoundingly to others! Way better than the big charter bus tours!!!

I booked 2 trips for 2 people in March 2020 costing me $800.00 Australian dollars.. They promised 100% Refund ..which I am still waiting for.
I understand there are issues with carona virus..but I see they have treated customers with complete ignorance..they will not communicate with you..they send everyone a letter from a legal firm..I guess to buy themselves time in avoiding negative
complaints.
If you are booking..only do so if you are 100% Sure you can travel to Iceland.

Our cruise ship could not provide an Iceland tour that suited, so a private tour was set up by a traveller to tour the southern coast. We saw 3 waterfalls in a well planned order, a glacier with blue icebergs, and the black beach. The minibuses arrived on time and the trip was well organised even to the point that we gained the last rays of Sun for the last waterfall. In addition, we saw the magnificent countryside as we drove along the southern coast to Vik. On return to the ship we were given a short tour of Reykjavik which was only shortened due to time limitations of the ship in Iceland. The trip was worth every penny we paid.
A constructive criticism would be that some questions by travellers could not be answered, but this did not interfere in the experience itself. Thanks for a great day.

We were unable to reserve any of the "Included" shore excursions on our recent Viking cruise. We didn't really want to take any of those "Bus and Paddle" tours anyway. But very grateful that we found Iceland Guided Tours to take us to the sites we wanted to visit. When all of our cruise companions were being herded onto a bus, we were being assisted into our private Mercedes Sprinter Vans. Our tour guides, Helga, Trom, Halldor and Peturs became our "Iceland Family" for five days. Any thing we wanted, anywhere we wanted to go, they accommodated us. From Reykjanes Peninsula to the active Fagradalsfjall volcano eruption; the Golden Circle; Dynjandi waterfall; Bolafjall; Sea Baths in Akureyri; Lagerfljot Lake and Studlagil, we did it all. We even got to meet the President of Iceland, Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, although that was not part of our "planned" itinerary. And IG Tours owner, Tryggvi, was consistently checking in with our guides to make sure the tours were going well. On several occasions we crossed paths with all those people on the cruise sponsored excursions. It did not appear that they were having the experience that we were with IG Tours. Thank you all. We decided to do the Golden Circle tour with IG tours after a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Dooley, our host was excellent and very knowledgeable about his country. He also decided to mix up the itinerary a bit to try and avoid the rain that was about which was a lovely touch and we did stay dry! IG tours are a lot cheaper than the cruise tours, they are a very professional company and we would definitely use them again in the future.

Grey Tour bus with Darren and his driver.
Circle Tour.
The gravitas of what you will see cannot be underestimated.
A super tour, enhanced by the amazing descriptions of the scenery and the hidden, historical facts given by Darren. He described the philosophy of life in Iceland and their attitude to living in this environment.
The logistics of bus full of people was handled carefully and gently with a humour and wit, they converted the wonderful scenic awe inspiring sights into a spectacular memorable event that will stay with me.

We cruised into two ports, Akureyri and Reykjavík, and used Iceland guided tours / Fab travel. They had excellent videos to help decipher what sights or routes we wanted to do and they were helpful in adding different stops that were not listed. We organized a private tour for a family of 3 and had a guide to ourselves. It was probably 1/3 of what the cruise ship was charging. It was sure worth it instead of dealing with a bus load of cruisers.
They were really easy to work with to settle on the tours, price and then payment 20% then paid in full at the first stop. Working with Tryggvi was easy with emails back and forth. Would recommend them to anyone who travels to Iceland.

We did a private tour organised by a fellow passenger on our cruise ship and we loved our South Coast trip!
Ian was our driver guide and was so friendly, informative and did his job brilliantly. He organised the timings of the route perfectly so we saw everything and made sure we were back at the shop on time.
The scenery was stunning - 3 waterfalls, black sand beach, basalt columns, glacier and beautiful views. Who could ask for more?

Northern light s are best seen between October and March anywhere above the Arctic Circle on a clear night with no light pollution where you are situated.

Hi there
For the golden circle tour, do we need a specific type of shoes?
Thank you

Dear Maria,
Many thanks for your message :)
There is no hiking involved on the Golden Circle Tour, but we always recommend to bring a good pair of shoes as the weather can change quickly in Iceland (rain, wind, etc.).
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are looking forward to hearing from you soon!

We will be doing an 11 day tour with Gate I. I’m curious as to how long and strenuous the days are. Is the day jam packed or is there some down time? Do you spend a lot of time traveling on the bus?

Hi there
Thank you for the Message.
I would recommend that you have to book the blue lagoon separately with the transfer, that is done on their website. bluelagoon.is
Best way to choose as well the entrance you would ike.
We can help you out with the Golden Circle day tour. That one is around 6 hours and you can see it on our website.

I recommend pre-booking them because they often fill up! Also what I did was pre-booked every single thing so that all I had to do when I arrived was just show up to all my activities!

I'm so sorry - we were in Italy/Greece via land & sea. I formed a small group tour on the Cruise Critic Board - great savings and its more fun when you can share the experience and gain the knowledge of a local tour guide. Although a self guided tour may appear to be a cost savings, you miss so much information - it's well worth $100 to do it right. See my reviews for tour guides I highly recommend.

What is the email address to contact this company?

I did try to answer with the email address I have for Into the Glacier, but I couldn’t submit it because of HTML characters, but I’m sure if you put “Into the Glacier “in your search engine it will come up, the email I have is the name of the tour with a dot is. Hope that makes sense.
There is also a website for Reykjavik day tours, but again it wouldn’t go because of the same problem
Enjoy this great experience.
