We had such a great time in this tour. Our guide in particular was amazing. You could see they really cared about making the best experience possible and as personal as possible. The highlight was that they actually brought really good quality cameras to take photos of us with the northern lights which wouldn't have been as nice with regular cameras. I couldn't recommend Time Tours enough. Thank you so much :-)

Had Monday to Friday evenings to do small group northern lights tour. I understood small group to mean about 16 people on a minibus with guide, which is what I wanted as opposed to the big coaches. Yes you will be on a minibus but like so many of these companies your minibus will be one in a fleet which will all convoy and disembark at the same spot. So... you may as well save money and go on a coach. We were cancelled monday, absolutely fine, it was snowing, had trip out tuesday so opted for wednesday. From the information available to me it looked good, KP was 3 or 4 and cloud cover was less than previous nights. Sure enough had confirmation email around 1700 but then another at 1900 cancelling. Did a quick call round other companies and they were sold out and were still going out. Was a bit perplexed so emailed Runar to ask what was the reason for the cancellation as it looked like a good night and there were confirmed sightings, Received long, angry and quite aggressive response informing me I was wrong and the technology I was using was also wrong, and the other companies only went out because they know lots of them would be flying home on the Thursday and hence wouldn't be able to rebook, seemingly a well known scam. I was told in no uncertain terms that the app and/or forecast I was using was wrong even tho its the Icelandic Met Office, suggesting that many years of running these tours trumps all of that. I know these guys would like you to think that you just cannot find the aurora without them but that simply isn't true. Clearly customer service skills and/or the ability to handle constructive criticism have not been honed in all those years as you will see from all the equally assertive responses to reviews on this site, We had been offered friday night to rebook but unsurprisingly declined and booked a coach tour. Friday night was the only night in 7 the lights made an appearance. There was a final sting in the tail, even tho I thought my dealings with this company had thankfully ceased, When I arrived home on friday night I received another email from Runar with a link to all the pictures from the friday night tour. This is for people who were on the tour so that they can download the pics that were taken of them on the night. Obviously I wasn't on the tour so presumably this was just some residual spite, bitterness and vindictiveness in a kind of look what you would have seen if you had come on the tour!! My preference would be to have my own transport so if you are happy with the Winter conditions then I would opt for that. Also if you are visiting iceland in the winter purely to see aurora then you may be better off trying Svalbard or Tromso instead. At the time of writing friends are in Tromso and have had sightings almost every other night without being dependent on tour operators.

We booked both the above tours with this company after recommendation and we were not disappointed. The Northern lights Tour went ahead on third attempt due to cloud coverage but we were lucky enough to see the magnificent display of the Aurora the tour is very well organised and our guide Thomas was very knowledgable and knew the best spots to go , he also captured some brilliant photos which they email a link the next day . We were treated to Hot chocolate and it was a night we will never forget . The next day we also did the Golden Circle Tour with our guide Ziggy who was also a wealth of local knowledge and the day which lasted eight hours went by so quickly .We saw some truly stunning sights and cannot praise the tour enough. We can highly recommend Time Tours they offer an unforgettable experience with a personal touch and very professional. Thank you for making our trip to Iceland one to remember .

We made 3 different bookings with Time Tours. First one was private transfer from airport to hotel when we arrived. Driver was late to collect us which wasn't a great start. We had also booked a northern lights tour for the first night. We were told by hotel concierge that tt had cancelled their tour but we could go with another company. We took the view that if tt had cancelled it was probably because there was very little chance we'd see northern lights so we decided to rebook with tt for following day. It was frustrating to speak to other guests on the following day who had seen the northern lights with their tour companies. To be fair it wasn't a magnificent display but it turned out to be the only display during our 3 nights visit. Our 3rd tour booking was the golden circle with siggi. He was very good. Giving us lots of information and giving us just the right amount of time on our own in each place.
