We use Reykjavik Excursions in most of our stay in Iceland. They are a very solid company that's cater for the tourist. They are very prompt on Pick-up, drop-off and responds quickly by email.

All their buses are clean and have wifi. They help you in your luggage when they pick up in the airport. They have tour knowledgeable and funny tour guides. For Golden Circle, our guide is Hershey which is funny and very accommodating. For Northern lights, our guide is Maria who is persistent in seeing the Northern lights which we did.

Cancellation of tours (due to bad weather) are being notified by email early enough that you have time to re-schedule it and plan for your other tours.

I recommend to use Reykjavik Excursion when in Iceland specially during the Winter which is very unpredictable.

We did a few of these tours when we wee in Iceland as they were part of our package. We did the northern lights by boat as one. We would not do this again. Too many people. Crowded. People were rude and only cared about their own experience and photos. You stay out for too long. Though we did get some cool experiences. We also did the golden circle and blue lagoon tour which was good but too long of a day. They should have broken this up in to two separate days as it resulted in us being gone from 830am-10pm which was way too long. The golden circle tour also had some really cool features but they made us stop at a tomato farm which I felt was a waste of time and a money grab to try to get you to buy things. I’m from near a tomato capital back home - this stop was not needed and prolonged the day. Some very cool experiences but improvements could definitely be made to the tours I experienced.

Dear Jussie Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly sorry if you did not enjoy our services. We assume that you purchased the package through another travelling agency and some of the tours were operated by us? We offer a great variety of tours among them we have a tour called Golden Circle Direct which does not contain Friðheimar, the tomato farm. Therefore you can choose which type of tour you want to attend. When it comes to the northern lights by boat tour the minimum time for the tour is two hours. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the tour and get the most out of the experience. Therefore we usually take two to three hours to operate the tour. For more intimate experience for the boat tours you can always select a private tour. Usually the excursions operated outside of Reykjavik take 4-12 hours. The time range of each tour can be seen on our website. Concerning the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon it can easily be divided into two parts. We kindly suggest that you talk to your travel agency or operator if you were not satisfied with the arrangement. Please contact our Quality Manager Helga Bryndís Jónsdóttir at helgab@re.is to convey your observations about our services.

The scenery was beautiful! So glad we decided to book it last minute! Climbing a volcanic crater was definitely a memory! Our tour guide was nice and told great stories. Only negative on this trip was our lunch took 2 hours but it was New Years Day and the only restaurant open in the small fishing village we were in and they were not prepared for our bus group. Not the fault of the tour guide at all but I wouldn’t advise eating there (Hraun) if you’re in a hurry.

Dear Traveler Thank you for your kind words on our Snæfellsnes and we are so glad that you enjoyed our services. Thank you for the observation, it was duly noted that the restaurant stop was longer then usual because of the closings. We hope to see you again soon Best wishes Aðalheiður

Used this company twice while in Reykjavik, first tour was to the diamond beach which was beautiful but the bus itself was not fit for purpose.

We were sat on that bus for 13 hours, it was freezing cold all day, the window kept steaming up and driver had to stop numerous times to wipe it as air con wasn't working and I was sat on a broken seat for 13 hours.

The second tour was the northern lights which was a waste of money as we had paid extra to go on the small bus instead of the large coach. We were taken to the same place? A carpark on an abandoned airfield. Complete scam!

As we didn't see the northern lights we were told we could rebook for free, after numerous attempts trying to online we had to get our hotel to call to rebook but within an hour we were told it was cancelled.
But other companys were still going?
(Grey line and Reykjavik sightseeing)

We couldn't rebook as we left the next day!

The blanket which was given to us is no more than a thermal stood which costs about £7, so why charge £60 when it's no different to the larger tour?

And my seatbelt didn't work properly!

I dont recommend this company at all.

Dear traveler Thank you for sharing your comments about our tours and services and I am truly sorry that we did not fulfill your expectations. I would highly appreciate if you would take time and send me an e-mail to helgab@re.is as I would like to take a closer look at both incidents. Kindly send me which days you were traveling with us on the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon and Diamond Beach tour as well as on the Northern Lights Small Group Tour and your booking reference. Hopefully you enjoyed your stay in Iceland. Looking forward to hearing from you. We did the Golden circle tour and northern lights trip with Reykjavík Excursions.

Golden circle tour was good and very interesting, our guide on the bus was very knowledgable about the areas we visited. Only down side, is that you don’t spend enough time in each location. Slightly rushed. We would recommend taking your own lunch as not enough time at the middle stop to see the Geysirs and get lunch.

Northern lights trip was well organised and again our tour guide was very knowledgable. Unfortunately we didn’t see the lights, but they do offer a free tour the next evening if you want to go.

We travelled with a 2 year old, the company provide car seats free of charge which is great so their safety and a relaxed trip. We would recommend Reykjavík Excursions.

We had airport transfers, the Golden Circle tour, Northern Lights tour and Blue Lagoon transfers booked via Reykjavik Excursions and every one of them was excellent. Tours started on time, buses/pickups were prompt, staff were so helpful and friendly, and everything was very straightforward. It was our first time in Iceland and I'd recommend everyone use this excursion company.

We used this company three times for various trips and they are great. Well organised and easy to use. The guides were all excellent from Rebekkah and her knowledge on the Golden Circle tour to Dillion who was possibly one of the most interesting and knowledgeable guides we met. Filling our journey with history, folk lore, environmental and economical facts as we drove to various waterfalls and thermal fields on the way to the Langjokull Glacier.
It is also worth paying a little more for the smaller group tours, and especially when searching for the Northern Lights

The visit to Cronors plate division between North America and Uracia is an impressive Experience. When you visit the Geiser be ready with your Camera as it only pumps up for few seconds. The visit to the water falls is not very impressive in January as Snow and Ice makes it impossible t o go nearer to it, one can only see it from a long distance. The Tour is Worth and The Bus Driver was so Careful in the Snow Fall an Fog. The Guide is not an enthusiastic one though he is Friendly.

We did a number of excursions with this company and they appear by far the best company to have done them with.

However being that it’s winter all the paths are quite icy and crampons can be useful but they’re not fall proof! I wouldn’t recommend the southshore adventure in the winter. It’s a long journey on the bus to see a lot of gloomy spots and not be able to walk behind the waterfall as the itinerary suggests.

The golden circle was amazing and you should do it any time of year. A geysir is spectacular any time of year and the waterfall will take your breath away. If you’re a game of thrones fan, walking through the fissure will make you very happy.

The coaches are in good nick and there’s plenty of stops to go to the loo or eat. They’re not great on making sure you have somewhere to eat a packed lunch (but we still did, so feel free too - iceland isn’t cheap and this is a great way to save money) and the guides can talk for a long time, In not a very clear way and repeat themselves. So it’s hard to follow and by the end of it you’re basically waiting for them to finish so you can figure out what time you need to get back to the bus.

Jòhanna was very enthusiastic, upbeat and happy, as she greeted us upon arrival at our stop. She had many great stories and information about the areas we visited on this Golden Circle Classic Tour. Our driver, Evelina, I think her name was, was beyond competent in navagating the sometimes extremely difficult turns, many times due to construction, and was overall an excellent driver that gave us a very great and safe ride. Having Jòhanna as a guide really made this trip beyond great, and on top of that, Reykjavic Excursions is an ambitious young company that, in our research, beats the prices of the competition.
