We enjoyed all the places we visited on this trip. Water falls, black sand beaches, glaciers and balsalt columns. Such a variety of things to see, take photos and walk. We also had plenty of rest stops on this 10 hour journey. Great day.

Fantastic tour. Our tour guide Katharina was amazing, gave us so much information so the drive to our first stop, which took approximately 2 hours, seem to go by quickly. She was so friendly, always told us when we had the next bathroom stop coming...More

We booked this tour online at the last minute and it turned out to have been a great decision. It is not cheap, but is a fair price going by Icelandic standards. We waited at bus stop 10 Hlemmer and were picked up about 20...More

I will be forever thankful to Magnus for his tour guide kindness. His driving was skilled, he offered our small group an incredible road trip Icelandic soundtrack & was patiently informative. I leave Iceland with amazing memories for a lifetime, all to his credit.

On the tour buses with Reykjavik Excursions there are toilets and they also have regular comfort breaks so you’ll be fine talking children

Hi there! If you’re wanting to see all three on the same day sadly I think you’ll be too pushed given your timings unless you hire a car. If you do that from the airport and plan your routes precisely and visit the... More

First trip to Iceland (2 Replies)
I'd like to spend about 5-6 nights in Reykjavik and have a few questions? 1 - Is the weather mild enough in September? It seems like summer prices are very high. 2 - What hotels do you recommend that are located close the major attractions and what downtown attractions do you recommend? 3 - Do you recommend the Golden Circle or South Shore Adventure or another tour. Thanks in advance

frozenbaz gives good advice. Reykjavik's size is tiny in the centre. My favourite places are the huge church bell tower (great views - avoid going up near the hour!); the pond in the centre; the museums; the harbour. Pretty much all within 30 minutes stroll of each other. Always bring clothes for inclement weather. You might not need them, but if you do, you'll be glad you brought them.

South Coast tour booked for this weekend (4 Replies)
Hi everyone, We are due to go on the South Shore Adventure this Saturday and we are really looking forward to it but are worried it may be cancelled due to the weather. If it is cancelled, which other trip do people recommend to go on? Or will it probably still go ahead ( WE HOPE SO :) ) Thanks for your answers in advance. Phil

Day tours or car rental? - Reykjavik as base (2 Replies)
I will be in Iceland May 21-26. The person who bought the trip already has a hotel based in Reykjavik, so that will be my base for the whole trip. I want to see all that I can in the six days I am there and know I will be backtracking some with staying in Reykjavik every night! In order to see everything would this itinerary filled with day tours be a lot to do, or should I consider renting a car? Which would be least expensive to do? I am open to any suggestions!! Day 1- Arrive to...More

If trouble-free, then the car rental is naturally cheaper that the guided tour. You can also just do both things. People have mentioned that they benefitted from getting a guided tour at the beginning of their stay, gained insight you know, and then went on with a self drive.
